Hey hun,
Did you get your rings? Are they lovely? We went to see Gavin Mack again at the weekend and have ordered our rings so super excited!!!
We asked around everyone for broken gold, we were quite lucky as my grandparents were weathy and mum kept all the broken watches etc when they died so we took that and had enough to make the rings and enough left to sell to pay for the making of them so nothing to pay:j:j0 -
Thats amazing about all the gold - I should have thought to ask around family!
Yep we have them. They are AMAZING. We are over the moon with them.
So much so my brother and his finace are going to see Gavin about doing theirs too! I should be on comission!
Mine is white gold (18k) with diamonds. OH's is palladium x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Hi there,
I've just found this thread. I too am getting married in Banbury. My fiancee and I are currently looking for a reception venue in or around Banbury and was wondering if anyone was having a reception or ever been to a reception at the Cromwell Lodge? We're thinking of having a look round but would appreciate anyone letting us know of their experiences of the place.0 -

Hey
We looked at the Cromwell Lodge (they hold thier weddings in the Marquee with a water feature in the middle!) but they were booked for our date so didnt consider it too much, a few months later I went to a wedding fair there and i had to give them my wedding date, I said that we had been told they were booked, a month or so later they emailed to say they had never been booked!! So all in all I wasn't impressed. However they do have the £1000k wedding package (or did when we were looking) which I think is a good deal.
Good luck with your search though! We looked at loads of venues around Banbury so if you ned any ideas give me a shout!
Are you looking for somewhere for civil ceremony and reception or just reception?0 -

Thanks for letting me know your experience. We're just looking for a reception venue as we're having our ceremony at Wroxton Abbey but unfortunately we can't hold the reception there on the date we've chosen. We've tried loads of places but they're either too expensive or not for us.
We need to get a move on as we get married this October!0 -
Have you tried General foods in town? Or I found golf clubs cheaper than hotels, we went for Ryehill who have worked with us and our budget well. Also there is cherwell edge golf club0
-
We're considering Rye Hill - I really like it but my fiancee isn't so keen. We really liked the idea of a golf club and had been considering Brailes golf club but they come out way above budget. Hadn't thought about the GF club though so I might have a look at that. Thanks.0

Another Banbury bride here.........well im originally from Banbury, but marrying elsewhere in Oxfordshire.
Wroxton Abbey is beautiful for a wedding. I went to one there a couple of years ago. Its all outdoors though, so weather dependant!0 -
Just been thinking a bit more, how about The Whately Hotel or Bodicote Cricket Club?0
-
I've noticed that the Whately has a wedding fayre on Sunday so I might pop in there and have a look but I remember going there for a works xmas party a while back and not liking the place at all.
I had considered the Bodicote Cricket club but not sure it would be big enough unless we could put a marquee up as well so I might look into that further.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions!0
