Getting married in Oxfordshire

I am looking at getting married Sept 2010 and am looking for a venue that will not break the bank in Oxfordshire.
Looking at spending approx £5K for the venue for both day and evening and maybe even ceremony.
Has anyone got married or is getting married at a venue that they would recommend?

Where abouts are you based?
I'm in Bicester, getting married just outside Banbury0 -
If you go to Oxfordshire County Council's website you can download licesed wedding venues in Oxon. I live in North Oxon and am looking at getting having my reception just outside of Banbury too!0

I am in Wallingford so Banbury is at bit far for me. I will check website suggested though - thanks0

Cherry - where abouts are you having your reception?0

Possibly The Great Barn at Aynho, but I also like Weston Manor, which is near to you. Are either of these the same as your venues?0

Unfortunately both were far too expensive, managed to find a gorgeous one at half the price and settled with Rye Hill Golf Club in Milcombe, near Banbury0

Sorry Primmer didn't mean to hijack your thread.
Have you looked at Oxford 4 pillars? or any of the local golf clubs to you?
I found golf clubs to be hidden gems of the wedding world!!0 -
No worries - did look at a couple of golf clubs but they did seem expensive too, but will do a search for golf clubs in the area to see if there are any deals to be had.0

Lains Barn looks lovely from what I've seen in the brochure I had in one of my guide for brides bags0
