Getting married in Oxfordshire

Have you thought of Fallowfields Hotel in Kingston Bagpuize? I haven't been to a wedding there, but I have eaten there a few times and had a small birthday do, as well as used one of their rooms for running workshops. It's a lovely venue with great food and great people which would've been on my shortlist if I hadn't set my heart on getting married in a castle! No idea of costs but worth checking out - can't post the link as I'm a new user - you can find it easily through Google.
Lains Barn is also lovely, the challenge there is transport, as there is no accomodation at the venue and it's a few miles from anything.
I used to run a breakfast networking group at Milton Hill Hotel - they looked after us very well. Not a wedding, obviously, and it bodes well if they can take care of you for such a small thing.
Good luck!0 -
I have organised a conference for work there the last few years together with evening meal and accomodation. They do look after you-especially the young lady called Hollie. Beautiful grounds and lovely spa/pool/beauty area for your overnight guests.
If we could afford to have our wedding there we would, but ours is 5 miles up the road instead
@ Steventon House?
Well we couldnt afford it if my dad wasnt putting some in - just want to really reassure myself that its worth the extra money x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Thanks Sarah - we looked at Lains Barn and it was really nice but something just didnt feel quite right - plus they are having work done there that only meant to finish the week before our wedding, they say it wont over-run but dont want to take the chance :heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Hi there,
I am new to the forums and am searching for tips for a wedding on a budget! Came across this thread and thought I'd reply. We've just booked the Lambert Arms in Aston Rowant, Oxfordshire (near Thame just off the M40 junction 6) who have an extremely competitive package. For the price of £69/person you get canapes, welcome drink, room hire, a three-course sit-down meal, half a bottle of wine per person at the table, a drink to toast, an evening buffet, a cake stand, a toastmaster... and some other stuff, I can't remember all of it now but we didn't actually need everything that was included! We're going to have lots of kids at our weddings and they're an even more reasonable £10/head. The hotel also offers special accommodation rates to wedding guests of £59/room (very nice rooms) including breakfast. I would definitely recommend looking at them if you're looking at Oxfordshire and don't want to spend too much.

Hi Jess - are you sure you dont work for them - you read almost identical to the brochure!
We looked at there - and even shortlisted it bt have discounted it as there are not many picture opportunities (that I saw) and I thought the ceremony room was a bit small.
I LOVED the honeymoon suite though:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

We did indeed! We loved it and its on our shortlist. Our only worry is the size of it if weather is bad - not sure what your numbers are? x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:
