Caswell house website looks fab if money was no object would have been my top choice!
  • Maysie, it is even nicer up close - am very excited.

Am hoping to save money on flowers, photographer and dress etc as I have spent on the venue. Any tips on where to buy a good value wedding dress in Oxfordshire much appreciated!

Mae bridal are good and no dress is over £1000, the lady who runs it is lovely. Technically not an oxfordshire bride but lived there until late summer and have done most of my dress shopping there as bridemaid is in Witney.

I got my dress on ebay at a bargain price. It had just been listed as a buy it now at £50 looking at everything else the seller had on i cannot help thinking it was a mistake as everything else was about £500. Did they miss an 0 off it? They were in the uk and its a branded wedding dress. It was over £1100 full price looking online. I don't really like being centre of attention so I avoided the whole trying on dresses bit :O. Just need to get adjustments sorted probably £150 + for those. I am short and the bust is a bit big. At least i don't have to diet as such.

The lady in Mae Bridal is lovely. I popped in to look at headpieces she had some lovely ones. I also had a look at shoes in Blossom Bridal the lady in there was very nice as well although 2 flights of stairs felt like forever lol.

My stepdad (enthusiastic amateur) and his ex brother in law are doing my photo's I just to have pay for what i want developed.

No idea what i fancy flower wise but it will be diy in some form probably so i cannot help there either.
  • Lot of good suggestions here. I want the suggestion. Thank you for sharing

I have now got my shoes (eBay) and tiara (TK Maxx) - both bargains.
Going shopping with two of my bridesmaids next Friday for their dresses and will shop later for the younger bridesmaids as they are young and still growing!

Has anyone booked their wedding cars yet or got any recomnendations? Cars are next on my list to sort out.
  • Great news Primmer. (saw your other thread about your dress - what a nightmare)

Where are you looking for Bridesmaid dresses, we went to some places in and around oxfordshire and ended up getting ours in Farnborough. Although they were pricier than high street.

We have asked a friend of the family with a nice jag to take our bridesmaids, the car for me and my dad my dad is booking as a suprise so cant help with any companies, but would reccomend asking family or friends with nice cars? x
