  • Hi All,

Does anyone know of a dress maker/seamstress in Oxfordshire that can copy dresses that isnt extortionate?

I have been let down by the dress I had set my heart on so have gone back to the one I fell in love with origninally which is a picture from you are your wedding magazine! However it is a dress that was custom made for another bride by a designer for £2k (eeeek). Anyway before I contact Milly Bridal in China to see if they could make it I thought I would see if anyone knows of anyone local who might be able to help (trying to keep my money in Oxfordshire - doing my little bit for the economy!:A)

By the way we saw Gavin Mack last night regarding rings (He is a friend of OH) and he will be sending us quotes today - fingers crossed!)

Sorry cant help with the seamstress :( Ill keep an ear/eye open though.

As for Gavin Mack, would you mind letting me know what sort of prices he quotes? Even if you want to PM it? [STRIKE]I[/STRIKE] We have an appointment with him on 30th Oct x

when I went dress shopping last week I was given details of a couple seamstresses. I will try and remember to dig out their contact details and pm you as it may be worth contacting them.

Yep no probs, I am hoping OH will have spoken to him when I get home so will let you know, one thing I will say is Gavin said gold is very expensive at the mo so asked us if we had any old or broken (like the ads!) to use!

Well gold IS expensive... and I actually have my parents wedding ring (well mums...) from when they got married as she had one made and designed just for her... Made from my grandmother and great grandmothers old gold - both sadly passed before mum got married and mum didn't want to get rid of it so melting it into something she'd use everyday was perfect. There was just enough left over for a cross for me for my christening :) I now own both and wear mums ring when I wear yellow gold as my ring is white gold :)
