trolleymate; according to your public profile, you're in Fife - may I repeat a few questions which went unanswered, and are in danger of disappearing in the noise.....
Are the Fixed Price agents to which you refer, the ones actually transacting business in your county (or Kingdom) actually doing this FULL TIME? If it's merely a sideline to their other business interests or occupations, that might have some bearing on the discussion........
Do these Fixed Price agents who are operating in your area get paid upfront, at conclusion, or a combination?
And another - are these Fixed Price agents working as 'Solicitor/Estate Agents' or as stand-alone Estate Agents? Are they in either of the SPCs active in Fife?0 -
Wonder where the OP is now?0

My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0

OP = Original Poster, or Original Post - the person or post that started the thread.
SPC - Solicitor's Property Centre. A Scottish-specific concept, that I would imagine you'd be familiar with, being from Fife......0 -

Strangely enough, I'm getting the impression you're not really from Fife, after all......0

No response to #202 ???
When out and about today found out one of the local Estate Agents who have been operating in the traditional way for the last 30 years are opening a new office in the neighbouring town as a fixed price agent. Can PM the company name to you if you would like to investigate some more.
Still don't think you trust me.0 -

Even more so now, I don't believe you're in Fife (as stated in your profile). Your first sentence gives it away.
Yeah, go on - PM me their name.0
