Stealing photographs or text on eBay - dishonest or merely lazy?

I am going to bow out of this thread now.

I have said my piece, it is an opinion backed up by law, but there will always be someone who decides it's easier to pretend that something is fine when it's not.

There are ebay rules in place which prohibit this going on but unfortunatley it does. Just like there are laws prohibiting me from robbing a bank, but again unfortunately it happens! If I want to lift an image or some text from another auction because I am lazy, then if ebay want to kick me out then they can. Its my own fault, would I be that bothered when I sell every now and then, not at all. Power Sellers need to stick by the rules because they earn a living out of it.

Ultimately this thread is about the morals of it, NOT the legalities.

I think that demonstrates the power of such a discussion, we've gone from some people believing it is OK to an almost unanimous agreement that it is both dishonest and lazy to do so, which is the original question asked of the thread.

I think you are probably right, an interesting discussion but one that I think has reached it's natural conclusion.
