We have a Cashplus prepaid Mastercard supplied by these people and intended to put our holiday money onto it this weekend. After reading the above reports they sound a bit of a risk so think we will use a different one. Good luck, hope that you get your loans or at least your money back.0

Maybe we're moving on from the broker fee scams. Perhaps too many people discovering how to get their money back (thanks to MSE) so another approach is being used.0

I have never been asked for a chaps fee upfront the companys i have used have always taken it from the monies being sent and forwarded me the balance. Does sound like a new scam :-(:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Hi Everyone!
I use to live just up the road from APS Finance. They've been around for years so I doubt that they are a scam. Taking liberties definitely but hardly a scam. They also run a bunch of Pay Day Loan sites.
However, they seem to be charging CHAPS fees to people and then not depositing the money on time. I've heard a few people paid for a CHAPS transfer then ended up getting the loan paid by BACS!?! What's that about?
Seems like a way to cover their expenses, as not many people care about the fee once they've got their money.
Before loan companies would charge brokering fees and arrangement fees but now I think they way they're heading is charging for CHAPS and then paying by BACS. Bit unethical if you ask me, but I'd wait and see what happens, get my money then file a complaint with the ombudsman service to recover the charges!
Hope that helps :beer:0 -
hmmm
i was talking to someone before and they mentioned it could be a bacs payment , but we'll see everything in the letter they sent seemed ok so fingers crossed for us all.

The people I had spoken to said they'd paid APS Finance for a same-day CHAPS payment but the actual loan money, when it was paid into their bank account several days later, was via BACS. I don't know if the money was actually paid by APS or another company who they work for/works for them. But they applied for a loan from APS and were paid the money by BACS and not CHAPS like the company claims. Hope that clarifies the matter.0 -
yes thanks
so there may still be hope !!:D:D0
