I laughed so much! lol Bit like me planting my veg way back in april and forgetting to label them. Took me a month to work out what each one was lol

I did that with my herbs - I thought I didn't need to label them because I'd know what they were.......the trouble is that while thery're small and just starting to grow (I planted late) then it's impossible to tell apart from the chives!!

Just harvested some of my garlic. The first batch I planted were in a pot way too small back in january. The stems all flopped over last week so today I took the plunge and pulled them up. They may not be as big as the supermarket ones but im thrilled with the results!

I even gave some to a friend as she was here and it felt rude not to!

Popped open the first of my pea pods and they were so sweet. Chewed on the pods too and they were nice and juicy. Only had a couple so far so fingers crossed many more will follow!

Can anyone give me any advise on growing red peppers? i bought a small plant from Focus a few weeks ago, but dont really know what to do with it. I have been keeping it inside most of the time, but i am starting to put it out in the daytime to get some 'fresh air'. I have a load of what look like green buds (they are tiny). Are these the eventual pepper? The stems dont seem sturdy enough to hold bell peppers on (even thought i am supporting them with sticks).

Any help / advise appreciated. Thanks!

Orange King- See if you can find on 4od the river cottage played two sundays ago- it has recipes for peas including a pea soup which includes the pods!

Satnav- I have one too :) mine is kept in the greenhouse and it says in my book they need to be inside or in a greenhouse as they like the heat. I have to say it seems to work as from one bud I now have about twenty! You need to stake the plant to help them carry the fruit then, as soon as the first lot have grown green, you should take those off as the plant wont fruit again until those have been picked, but you can still eat them :)

No gardening today but seeing a man about a flower bed tonight LOL so should have some more space for my garden kitchen!

    Have a good day all!

Forgot to say- Lunar! Your garlic is amazing. Do you plant the whole bulb or just the cloves?

Love reading what everyone is up to - we all seem busy. We had a dozen french beans with our tea today. OH was enjoying them and then looked up at me saying "are these your beans?" He was so surprised at how nice they were. I didn't realise how low his expentations were of my produce :rotfl:. I also have my first strawberry pretty much ready (just needs colouring in a bit).

We just ate 15 sugar snap peas etween us, with our evening meal. Doesn't it feel good to just walk down the garden/allotment and pick your meal....or at least a contributing part of it :-)

Gave everything a good watering today. Have had to cut down some of the potato halm on my 5 large ikea bags because they were flopped over onto one of my raised beds. I don't hold out much hope for a good harvest from them, but i have second earlies and maincrop still growing well elsewhere in the garden so on balance, it's okay.

I have 2 of these as well, only mine were from B&Q. They have teeny weeny little 'green buds' on them which i presume will grow on to be peppers eventually. My stems don;t look sturdy and both plants are pretty small.
