I thaught this was a good idea for those with little space to plant seeds. As i am not a gardener i was not sure which topic to post this under but rather than not show it at all i will put it this one as it is at the top of the page.It may have already been posted previously though.

That's a good idea sqiiggles, i use to have something like that when we went camping, but it was made out of plastic and wasn't as good as that one.
Maybe make one similar out of an old sheet or something.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had potatoes coming through yet? Ours have been planted for three weeks up at the allotment, and not a sign yet. Wondering if they are finding it hard to push through the clay soil. We seem to have a rabbit lodging in the compost heap up there though. Hopefully they will stick to eating compost food and not munching on ours when it comes through.

I haven't been following this thread as closely as I have meant to lately, so sorry if this has already been asked..
What height do you wait for your salad leaves to grow to before you start cutting? I have the mixed salad pack from BBC Dig-in in little troughs. The leaves are probably about 3" high (with rocket, red chard, spinach, etc in there) and I am getting itchy feet because the delicate little leaves are starting to look very tasty to me!
I had some of the same kind of thing for tea tonight, tasty.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I couldn't resist pulling a couple of leaves off whilst in the garden before work this morning they were very nice, and mine are probably the same height. It's hard having patience when they look so delicious!Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0 -

Should have checked that the pots would fit on the windowsill first I guess! Just have to hope that Mr Youthworker doesn't go into the spare room for a while ...

I planted on the 11th April, ones in the ground popped through a few days ago, ones in tub 6" of growth so I earthed up today.
I had fleece and cloche over the ground area for 3 weeks before planting to warm the soil, but with the late end of winter this year I think they are just late getting going, still expect the yield to be heavier than my tub through.0 -
