My toms have been outside a week and seem to be doing OK. I hardened them off for 2 weeks then just left them out. So are my peppers and chillis.

Actually everything is outside now. The only thing that died is sweetcorn.

Thats great shelvis - will start hardening my toms off as from today :)

We did start it a little early and it is just sitting on the windowsill as I believe it is still too cold to go out into my square foot garden

Well you can't see the seeds not germinating in the toilet roll tubes in the green house :rotfl:

  • Had a pot-a-thon this afternoon. All my courgette and french bean seeds are now potted and sitting in the middle of the spare bedroom. Should have checked that the pots would fit on the windowsill first I guess! Just have to hope that Mr Youthworker doesn't go into the spare room for a while ...

Hi Scotsaver - my cucs have germinated but they are on a sunny windowsill in my living room - they're growing by the day. Would think that the greenhouse maybe isn't warm enough. HTH

Hi kimmee - checked them this afternoon and I have 2 coming through.:j Lets hope the rest come through eventually too, just think it's not hot enough in there yet.

Do it on kitchen paper inside on a plate. Then plant them out.

Hi Lotus-eater & Alcmene - I shall give this a try too, didn't have a problem with them germinating last year so just think everything is a bit later this year.

Have picked 2 Radishes to have in my salad tonight - forgot to pick some last night and wondered what was missing from my plate.:o

The garden looks lovely and fresh with the rain fall that we've had.

I haven't been following this thread as closely as I have meant to lately, so sorry if this has already been asked..

What height do you wait for your salad leaves to grow to before you start cutting? I have the mixed salad pack from BBC Dig-in in little troughs. The leaves are probably about 3" high (with rocket, red chard, spinach, etc in there) and I am getting itchy feet because the delicate little leaves are starting to look very tasty to me!
