Chimera, i put about 8 or 9 seedlings (peas) into a large planter, i don't know whether thats ok though, as this is my first year of veg gardening so it's trial and error for me.
Oh no, i've forgotten to put the peas in the greenhouse, its given a frost round here tonight....... i'm off outside again now to move them.

Loving the photos by the way

I have a few pea plants developing outside - just hack the end off a Coke bottle (other brands are also available ;) ) and cover the shoot.

Wow I sowed some broccoli seeds on Saturday and they've germinated already :D
Pity my cauliflowers aren't doing so well :(

    Edited to say:
I sowed some peas back in November and they are coming on a treat finally. Not covered them up and they are growing day by day.

The bad news is that the predicted frost here was worse than i thought--it got so cold that the water in the birdbath was frozen even at 9am this morning.!....
The good news is my tomato seedling plants seem to be coping well in the plastic greenhouse,I also covered each plant with a plastic bottle "cloche" and added some bubble wrap to the front of the growhouse,1 cucmber plant may just make it,the rest arent looking too healthy(they were looking a bit "off colour" before i put them out.
Indoors I have 10 little mini tomato plants on the windowsill(planted loads cos i didnt know what i was doing!!)I also haved 9 mini pepper seedlings germinated..gonna take a few into friends at work, ive sown far too many.
outdoors in the raised bed I finaly have signs of life in the form of Kale(planted 11th April)
Still waiting on carrots/beetroots/all year lettuce,/spring onion,/ and golden acre cabbage to make an appearance...again all sown 11th April..in raised beds covered with fleece.
I planted 6 white and 6 red onions in seperate troughs, but only 1 onion in each is showing a tiny green shoot---didnt help that one of my red onions had been pulled up this morning !!,naughty blackbirds I think.
PS,nearly forgot... on 14th April in a large plantpot i sowed 1 cucmber seed,1 french bean seed, and 1 courgette seed, all inside their own individual toiletroll tube, and they have all now started to sprout through :)
Good luck everyone, heres to a bumper harvest;)
    Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly
    GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)

It was so cold this morning! I went out to take the fleece off my baby plugs and open the door of the plastic greenhouse a bit and it was chilly and windy. That's interesting about your toms, I could really do with getting mine outside. They're taking over the kitchen just now because I put them into the morrisons flower buckets, just couldn't keep them watered in their little pots. I reckon they should have been pretty hardy anyway, don't see Homebase taking them in at night!

I'm waiting on my potato planters coming (the ones from plantoffers). I seem to be doing more and more veg. I wasn't going to do any, then it was toms and strawberries, then potatoes and now I fancy lettuce and chives... :rotfl:

Everyones pics look great, nice to see so much going on. :T
 Mummy to an amazing little girl
  • An update today from sunny Bangor -

Potatoes - ones purchased from the supermarket that had shot coming along nicely but the chitted ones bought as tubers are taking their time - maybe this is a good thing though as it could lead to regular cropping.

Tomatoes, all indoors still ranging from 1 to about 5 cm in height. Will wait for a while yet before they move to the greenhouse.

Courgettes - some doing very nicely indeed in bigger pots while others are now just making a show.

Chilli Peppers - still indoors in pots but roots starting to appear so action required.

Leeks - likewise, indoors just yet.

Beetroot - plenty of signs of growth, particularly under the upturned fish tank in the patch.

Carrots - some well on the way, others, planted before them, looking not so good - maybe victim to the frosts of March?

Parsnips - no sign and have never had succes with them before. :(

Lettuce - doing well if they would stop being chewed by whatever it is - not slugs as far as I can see.

Garlic - doing well but leaves already looking a bit yellow at the top.

Shallots - starting to come on nicely beneath their bottles.

Spring Onions - well on their way along with basil.

Strawberries from last year seem to have survived and had 25 more young plants developing well.

French Beans - in the greenhouse and sprouting well.

Raspberry Canes - summer fruiters showing some growth and new shoots from ground but reckon I need to wait another year.

Rhubarb - the real success story. Should have plenty from early May onwards.

No more room for much else apart from a few other herbs. Mint spreading quickly!
