Are you still flogging this dead horse?

Tell me which of these are required forms of ID under the Licensing Act 2003, then.

It might not say it in the licensing act but it might be included in a restriction on licenses issued which would mean it is covered by the Licensing Act even though they are not specifically mentioned. It is usually in the section about protecting children, it has been in every Premises License that I have held through different councils.

It's the same everywhere, it has been for years. There just seems to be people who have to try and find a "legal" way out of everything. I'm not sure what thats suppose to achieve, it's not like the consumer would then have a "legal" way to force someone to take ID. It's their own business they can decide to take what they want to take! Don't like it go somewhere else!

I think we should stop the till bod every time something in the 'alternatively alcoholic' list goes through and ask if they are old enough to SELL them; and insist on ID being shown to us to ensure that they are not breaking any laws.

I overheard that happen to a colleague of mine back in the 90's. It was this womans daughter buying tobacco, her daughter looked around 15/16. I asked her for her Trading Standards ID to confirm she could check the ages of my staff!

    She didn't like that one!

Your not the brightest bulb are you? I will repeat that Chicken in White Wine contains ZERO alcohol, that means NONE, it means ID NOT required, it means an INFANT can buy it. I could scan th packaging to prove it for you, but the majority of the population already know this to be the case, its a FACT! Do however feel free to prove everyone wrong with all this evidence you have (NOT).

    People in glass houses.......

I think you'll find my post is only talking about what forms of ID are accepted. The chicken sauce thing is a different issue that my post wasn't addressing!!!

Why would you need a trading standards ID to check the age of staff? It's something that anyone armed with the [not actually mentioned in the licensing act but referenced in the] links that you keep posting are more than capable of doing. Or is this trading standards ID malarkey another of your made up ID scenarios?

It is chilly up there on your high horse?

Do you still think it perfectly reasonable to ask a 30yr old to show ID to buy a tomato based cooking sauce?

I should have asked you the same question!

If she said that I'll have just asked her for her other ID then!

No. My point all along wasn't this but one a consumer can't dictate what form sort ID they think a retailer should take and two one persons judge of age is different to another. I have also raised the point that some don't cook and therefore won't know the wine has been boiled. It just takes a little decency to understand these things rather than acting like a 3 year old having a tantrum.

I'd happily discuss this attitude with you - if, of course, you hadn't spat out your dummy and blocked me because I called you on your endless nonsense...... :)

So you still think a 30 yr old needs to keep ID on them in case they buy a tomato based sauce then.....
