Thanka. So the truth is really that calls from VM landlines to Virgin mobiles are "free" only if I pay extra for my home phone i.e. not free at all!

Sheesh. It's very annoying. I'm getting so fed up with being told one thing but charged another.

I've gone for the Desire on T-Mobile at £25 a month, 18 month contract.

free phone
free car charger, free 4gb micro SD and 3 months insurance also free
300 mins
300 texts
3gb monthly fair use internet

My current provider 3 would not even quote on the Desire despite valid attempts to give me a HTC Hero on a similar deal at £15 a month.

Much cheaper than an iphone and it's worth noting that T Mobile offer a 3gb fair use monthly policy on Android smartphones not 500mb or 1gb like many others.

I'm pretty sure you only get the 3gb use only buying directly from T Mobile.

3rd party i think get 1GB, correct me if i'm wrong.

Had my phone for two weeks now, like most others I'm very impressed. Anyway I called MPD to ask if they offered the same package as T-Mobile, 3GB internet allowance and monthly flexible booster. The lady I spoke to said yes but, I was unconvinced and there is no confirmation of this on the MPD website.

To avoid any confusion I went direct to T-Mobile asked for a discount on the phone. Paid £89.99 for the phone (reduced from £129.00) on 18 month contract at £20 per month with 300 mins & Text. Still a good deal compared to anything that has come out since.

Nothing in the small print T&Cs about that, the fact it has come from a third party seller makes no difference, the contract is with T-Mobile.

Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phone You'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use web'n'walk Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our internet on your customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. Some dealers on some networks have their own packages, its dangerous to assume you get the same thing from one as you do from the network directly.

The T+C above come from the network, but if you're not buying from them they won't apply...
