I'm going for the Desire, my contract with Orange is up on the 18th March. Tempted to get a PAYG Sim on Virgin until all networks have the Desire and, then go for the best deal. Looks like a brilliant phone...

since your on orange then orange do a 30 day contract and its about £13 for 300 texts i think

Unlikely I'll be doing that as I'm leaving Orange because I have virtually no signal where I live. Plus being a Virgin Media customer there are slightly better deals available.

I'll wait till both of them come on T-Mobile and try to see the kind of upgrade/retention deals they can give me
I thought Vodafone had an exclusive on the Legend?

Most likely an exclusive colour, that seems to happen a lot lately.

The best sim-free deal I've seen on the Desire from a reliable source is at Expansys.
    £439.99 + £6.76 shipping
    expansys.com/d.aspx?i=196001

But has anyone heard of Devicewire?
    £389.95 + £6.94 shipping

I've finally taken the plunge tonight and pre ordered the Desire for £5.99 (that's five pounds ninety nine pence!) on Tmobile from mobilephonesdirect, 18 month contract, £25 a month, 300 minutes, 300 trexts and unlimited web. My current usage never goes over that anyway. Topcashback of £30 as well.

I understand that the web allowance is only 1gb if you order from a third party, and 3gb from Tmobile direct, but I can't wait as my old SE has finally packed up and I'm using an old battered N73 until I can get the Desire. I should get it on 2nd April (Easter Saturday!)

    How did you do that?

They are all £30+ per month on that website.

If you change the drop down box from 'Top 10 deals' to 'All deals', you'll find that there are options at £15, £20 and £25 as well as the £30 ones. ;)

There are also some good deals on mobiles.co.uk.

The same deal on mobiles.co.uk would cost £79.99 for the phone rather than the £5.99 with mobilephonesdirect.co.uk.

Also, mobiles.co.uk is a CPW subsidiary. The W in CPW stands for w*nkers you know. ;)
