I saw the mobilephonesdirect deals yesterday.

There is a 24 month contract one at £25p/m, 600 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited net. Handset £5.99. Sounds good.

However, a quick google throws up some terrible reviews for this site. Seems like these tariffs are just made up, they are charging more for the HTC Legend, which as I understand is not as good as the Desire.

Anyone know about contracts for orange
  • Has anyone bought a pay as you go from mobilephonesdirect?
Says they are selling the legend for £358
    and £383 for desire!

Both on vodafone, so does anyone know if they will be unlocked? I read that the contract phones from mobile phones direct come unlocked and sim free, i cant find anything for the pay as you go.
  • This thread is exciting me as I'm looking at smart phones at the moment. Currently with orange 18 month contract ends 30 June being £30 a month so fingers crossed can upgrade to this as HTC's seem to get really good reviews.

an Iphone would be good but the contracts are terrible for the way I use my mobile and I have and Ipod touch for music.

Not too much longer to be patient...

  • So how much do you guys reckon T-Mobile will be charging for an 18 month contract & a free HTC Desire?

My contract will expire on the 9th of April and I can upgrade on the 9th of March... I was dead set on getting a BB 9700 but now I am thinking of getting HTC Desire... Do you guys I think I can get an upgrade deal for an 18 month contract @ 30 pounds a month with a free HTC Desire, unlimited text&web?

And is it true that it will be released on the 26th of March??

At the moment T-Mobile seem to be charging a bit less for their phones compared to Voda and O2 so if there is any upfront cost for the Desire on a £30 18 month tariff it's not likely to be too big. I suspect they will price it slightly cheaper than a HTC HD2.

I've just looked on Tmobile's site, and they're now saying 'Due April.' The sites selling the sim free versions are all saying stock due 12th April. And with O2 announcing today they're going to sell it, that's all the major carriers, so there might be some good deals on prices (hopefully!)
  • ^Yeah although that T-Mobile twitter said it will be released on the 26th of March :( I guess I will wait a little a longer in hope that the price will go down as more carriers offer the phone.

Hunted around a few techie type sites for you. Most of it went over my head but one guy said he'd tried SIM cards from all the major carriers in his phone and it was unlocked.
