Thanks for the feedback. I think once you've had an iPhone it's difficult to go back to anything else.
Let's look forward to v4 of the iPhone this year (maybe?) :-)watcherman wrote: »It just lacks the sophistication of the iPhone. iTunes synch, whilst restrictive if you're buying from iTunes, still works seamlessly, using Double Twist or Sailing Media just isn't the same.
I found the screen great to look at, but hyper sensitive, you can just look at it (well almost) and it will ask if you want to remove icons, or will swipe across a page or two.
Screen visibility outside was also poor without it ramped up to max brightness, and as bad as the iPhone battery is, I found the Desire worse...So having it at max brightness all the time wasn't really viable.
I got a few forced closes on apps that should be able to run without problems, I'm talking the likes of Flixster or Kayak, not some backroom developers.
Only way to wake the screen is the top left power button, which I just found irritating.
Music player is very weak, the design just looks old, and as much as the iPhone is 3yrs old now, the design of the music player still looks newer than the one on the Desire.
Stock photo gallery wouldn't play nicely with iPhoto, so things like events or faces just ended up in a general folder, without categorisation.
Just think Apple have got it right, and as much as they change things at a snail pace, maybe that is the right thing to do, and the Android way of releasing a new one every few weeks isn't.If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)0 -
If you expect a phone to be 'like the iPhone', you've got the wrong mindset.
Personally, I'd rather die than own an iPhone, so can't wait for the DesireStarting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

You silly silly man.
Forums are for everyone to express (not slag each other) opinions
For your info you silly man there's no such thing as the perfect anything that includes phones.. Simply each to their own.
Enough said.If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)0 -

Why would that make him a silly man? like you said, its simply each to their own. He did say "personally" before making an opinion.
I am looking forward to something more customisable and multi-tasking. I wont take sides till i've actually tried to desire/legend. But iphone version 4 is getting me excited!!
Watcherman, thanks for the mini review :T.
Just a question, have you tried adjusting the sensitivity of the screen to prevent icon dragging etc? Or doesnt it matter too much?
I dont want to be having the same problem as you, when i get a desire/legend in the future.0 -

It was a genuine question since you failed to back your post up with any reasoned ideas.... very defensive you iPhone owners0 -
You sure they'll be open on Easter Sunday??
Well, the despicable heathens at T-Mobile turned up for work today, so I am now the proud owner of the last Desire in the shop. Now to play - I might be some time.
(Quick question for other owners out there - how do you set up the Desire to use a wifi link preferentially to mobile internet to preserve download limit?)There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Still no release date from Orange, I just spoke to someone in Retentions and they could only say it would be released between now and May0

I could be wrong matey but on my Hero if Wi-Fi is switched on and a known network is available then it will automatically use that network over mobile data.0
