Using some paint I already had I painted a horrid pine effect bookcase and now it looks lovely in my conservatory. I'm leaving it overnight for the paint to harden and then I can put all my cook books in itWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

A farmer near us has a field full of organic carrots that are just going to be ploughed back into the field...told us to help ourselves...so we did:j Carrot and coriander soup coming up!
(How many carrots can you eat before you turn orange)
Also, in a local charity shop came across a basket of old purses and wallets, all priced at 50p. Had a good rummage and at the bottom was a brand new M & S Autograph purse. When I got home and examined it properly...there was a 50p piece in the coin bit!!!0 -
Artydoll - lovely cakes mmmmmmm
Strange find on Saturday. Stopped at IKEA Warrington for tea and found 2 umbrellas in a bin. (I honestly don't usually rummage in bins, but they were poking out!) :rotfl:
Sunday I was digging in the garden, when I and dug up a spike which used to hold down the garden swing. The play area has now become the veg patch. I will use the spike to tie the dogs lead up to in the front garden. Then she can watch the world go by without any danger of her running into the road.
Today I rediscovered a pile of terracota tiles we rescued out of a skip a few years ago. They are now edging the veg patch.0 -
Not actually a frugal find for me, but my brother got a push bike for £5 from the local recycling centre - it needs a clean and a new chain and that's about it (and he's good at fixing stuff)0

A fantastic old school desk and stool from the cs for £7 - even better is that I nearly bought one in a 'vintage' shop for £35 a month back!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Yesterday was spent having another clearout of friends Mum's flat, I came home with one & a half preemie cardigans, 3 Phillipa Gregory books, 11 reels of cotton & an assortment of sewing implements including some very old bone handled one & 2 tatting shuttles.

I'm indulged as a bit of a non-waste weirdie at work. Today my colleague brought in an unopened packet of handmade papers and card-making materials that she'd had hanging around. They are gorgeous and will be used this weekend:T0

I am so happy, after cobbling together our ancient PC for years, a friend has given us a laptop. I am so grateful. Dh uses pc a lot as he does the admin for a cricket league, this is the only thing that keeps him going after becoming disabled. A couple of weeks ago the Pc crashed and we nearly lost all the stuff he had just finished for the new season that he had spent hours working on, he was just about to put it on a disc when it went on us. Luckily the local pc shop fixed it but understandably he is very nervous. So for once a bit of kindness has come our way.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
