Postman in my area sacked for stealing mail.

I'm told that he had 300 pieces of mail with this months date on at home so he was quite prolific!

  • Hopefully he will be getting prosecuted through the courts as well.

No link that I could find hon - it's not in the news yet. And probably won't be until they take him to court I imagine, some time hence.

Scary though these stories are for those of us who rely on The Royal Mail...In some ways it makes me feel better!

Whenever a couple of my parcels go missing some kind soul always tells me that my packing must be at fault, but that never makes sense to me given that I take great care, follow the guidelines (and then some!) and pack all my parcels in the same way. Is it just dumb luck that most of them get through? :D

The parcels being stolen makes more sense to me, but I understand that in the past very few cases were taken to court because of the adverse publicity it generated. I understand that this policy has now been revoked, and we may see quite a spate of court cases as The Royal Mail is seen to clean up its act.

  • Should put a sticker on the back of all of my packages "Caution, contains used pants"

That will stop it getting pinched... wonder what my customers would make of it :)

Or it might be an incentive to pinch them- well, no reason why posties can't be pervy. :D
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

  • Its about time they start taking this kind of thing more seriously. Chopping of fingers would be good.
