    I love the Illusionist!

I should have said Hello first as I'm new on this thread.
Since the family has been with lovefilm I've found it hard to watch what I already own and would you believe that it's not just dvds, I still have a box of unwatched VHs tapes....nothing wrong with the movies but streaming seems to be so much more convenient and the discs of new films do keep coming in the post (not to mention catch-up TV)....I'll make an effort now as I could do with the space on the shelf and with emptying the boxes ;)
I love the encouragement like in the books and toiletries threads. You're lovely, folks :):)

    hi Happygreen. Welcome!

I'm doing really bad this year - I don't think I've watched any of my own dvds yet or the ones I've borrowed from friends. I'm the same as you Happygreen with lovefilm, Netflix and catch up tv I don't seem to find the time to watch dvds.
I have just got rid of a box full tho so maybe I'm doing better than I thought!

OK so I cracked and bought a copy of the Extras DVD season 1 in a pound shop for...a pound. I never saw it and quite wanted to, so £1 isn't a bad investment. I will get rid of it if I don't like it, so it won't be cluttering up my abode.

watched Mongol and the warlords over the weekend, both are subtitled films mongol was about the early life of Genghis khan and warlords was about three bloodbrothers avenging the corrupt rule of china in the 12th/13th century, interesting but they were 1 watchers so are now being passed on to one of DH martial arts training friends.
watched 1st episode of rescue me as well (only had that 3 years)
finally finished the apprentice best of series 1-4 so going to pass that on to my mum. found season 1&2 of the inbetweeners, watched series 1 but it started to grate so im giving those away to the CS

Walking through town my daughter found this shop, it's like cash converter. Of course she bought something but I find the idea of bringing the old dvds and cds in there very appealing. I think they pay a bit better than Music Magpie and definitely less hassle than ebay. On the website they will instantly tell me how much it's worth https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?scid=2th.
I also found a charity shop that still takes VHs tapes. If those things aren't an incentive for me to get watching....

Another lovely challenging thread! I don't think my DVD collection is quite as desperate for being watched as my book collection is for reading. I tend to buy quite impulsively though, so if I want to watch a film I'll buy it and watch it there and then. Though there are a few on my shelf that haven't yet been liberated from the cellophane. I'll finish my sort out and have a count up but I don't think there can be too many! The one's I don't enjoy will go straight onto a pile to be recycled! (with my books I'll never read again!)
