I agree with Ina. Although there are some I can't resist for nostalgic reasons but they get less and less with a bit of cunning planning ;) .. watching the old vhs videos dissolves many "must-have-and-keep" thoughts! I also add some old films I used to love to the lovefilm list and watch them just the once in better quality as a treat.

Sooooo, I'm now on to The Royle Family Box Set and have just watched disc 1, which is the entire first series.

Very funny. When it first came on TV I didn't really 'get' it, but I cottoned on eventually.

I'll get onto the other ones as soon as I can. :)

  • After reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks on holiday I watched the film yesterday. If I'd watched it first I'd probably have enjoyed it more as a film in its own right, but there were so many differences to the book and bits it had missed out that I felt were quite key to the story. I know there's less time in a film than there are pages available in a book but I was disappointed by how different it was. Needless to say it still made me cry!

  • While bouncing around the house this week I've watched Glee season 4 I've had it for ages and SIL to be has wanted to borrow it. So while doing little bits of jobs I've had a good sing along while watching it!

    Hi everyone!

I've had quite a good week for watching DVDs:

The Royle Family box set (disc 2; series 2)
The Royle Family box set (disc 3; series 3)
Mrs Brown's Boys Disc 1 (old DVDs)
Mrs Brown's Boys Disc 2 (old DVDs)
Mrs Brown's Boys Disc 3 (old DVDs)

The Mrs Brown's Boys DVDs are interesting as they are not the recent BBC1 series that has been released on DVD. They are a budget version shot it Ireland seemingly years before the series we know on TV. It's interesting to see how a series develops from conception through its different incarnations. It's not all the same as the TV series we have seen on terrestrial TV.

    Hello everyone,

I watched Die Hard on DVD. I've seen this film a million times and I love it, but I've never watched my own DVD of it. I'm not entirely sure if I should count it as being watched, but I will as the numbers going up encourages me to watch more. I think it's called positive reinforcement, or something like that. :)

Hello everyone. I have watched American Hustle and Something's Gotta Give. American Hustle was really good and Something's Gotta Give was pretty good for a rom-com - I don't normally watch that kind of thing.
