Yep, the full model number should locate it, but the serial number may be needed as well.

  • I'm amazed! I've been experiencing the exact problems you describe with my Samsung fridge freezer for a week now. I've been monitoring it but the water dispenser is working intermittently, the fridge is changing temperature from cool to warm (turning the milk sour!) and today I noticed the fan was making a strange noise. I've Googled the problem to find a solution and cannot believe how many people are reporting the same thing, surely this is one for Watchdog if it's a product fault.
I'm going to try defrosting first, as product is 19 months old and out of warranty. I'll see how I get on before taking next step to contact Comet / Samsung.
    Thanks, forum very useful!

    Hi Kwatt,

the serial number is S/N 731243CTA00780F and model number is SR-S208CVW
    Hope this helps.

In response to gemini45 that could be a good call about watchdog, i am not one for going to the press/media normally, but i am disgusted at samsungs attitude and a fridge/freezer that is not working after four years. :j

    Hi Goamike,

The PCB is available from Samsung, part number is DA41-00027B although it is not in stock in Holland now they are expected into stock on 05/11/07.

Given the description though I'd be very surprised if it need the PCB, 99% of the time it's just the sensors that cause this. ;)

The SRS series is also a different beast in many ways to the RS series which most of the problems on this thread revolve around.

Paul you wouldn't happen to be selling a guide on Ebay would you?

Keep it up and I'll publish a Samsung guide on the fault when I find it all for free. Why make people pay to order parts?

    Hi Mike,

Yeah, it is clutching a bit I suspect, probably just a run of the mill failure of the sensor/s so no great shakes really.

However, just for Mr Ebay king... HERE'S A FULL STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON REPLACING THE RS21 SERIES EVAP COVER WITH PICTURES AND EXPLANATIONS

If people buy the parts from us for the effort of helping, great and if not, fine. But we are very competitive on price. ;)

It really annoys me when some people try to do that sort of thing, it's just not very nice. I don't see the need to charge for the information if its a business that supplies the spares and/or service.

I thought Samsung offer a 2 year guarantee.

  • Hi Silvercar,

Thanks - I've just checked Samsung website and refrigerators are covered for 24 months. I'd only checked my purchase receipt, which only covers for 12 months. I'll follow up on that.

    Cheers

    Gemini,

If you call Samsung customer services (I don't have the number to hand) and report it as a warranty call and you have proof of purchase showing the machine is less than 24 moths old then it shouldn't be a problem, they should just get it done for you through the retailer or an ASC.
