 EL - so sorry to hear of your redundancy - its a bummer - but you will get thru it - you really will - i looooove working for myself, its so much more rewarding on an emotional level.

Have a fabulous few days away, and enjoy yourself - "Mrs Danvers" will still be around next week and the week after that.

EL - Redundacy can often be a blessing in disguise. I had a real battle with my ex company, case almost went to the Magistrate's court. But they settled with me in the end, just before the court date. I am now self-employed and wondering why it took me so long to get here. Its just great.

    crown prosacution dropped charges
but i will never be able to say i have never been arrested

Sorry to hear about the redundancy - with your newly acquired knowledge of landlords and reclaiming withheld deposits, you could always set yourself as a consultant for people with evil landlords.

Best of luck in the future, but keep on going!

hi EL - i have just met an old friend who is a VAT inspector - and THEY certainly know how to track down people ! i summarised your situation, and his response was "sometimes people get away with name changing/address changing for years, and sometimes we never catch up with them. "

i know this is the opposite of what i have posted up to now, but, knowing how much time and energy unemployment takes up (energy-wise as well as money-wise) - i wonder if you should consider your options here - maybe even have a break from the evil Mrs DAnvers-hunt - and come back to it refreshed when your employment situation is more clear ?

Just a thought - only you know how much you want this chase to have a financially successful conclusion, and only you know how disapointed/relieved you might be if you do call a halt.

    all my best wishes

    clutton

    xx
  • Thanks guys - thanks for the messges - I feel very positive because this 'redundancy' still has me in a job for at least 6 months, with an extra months pay in December and then in January still working in the same job/same people, but working for myself, earning an extra £250 per month than I do right now - it's the kick up the bum I needed to become self-employed and I know I'm the sort of person that can do it.

If anyone knows of threads on how to get to understand the ins and outs, please PM me links as not to clutter this thread with my other 'stuff' going on... I particularly want inspiration for a name to call myself when self employed - something o do with personal assistant services/research/organising/saving money - so answers on a PM postcard if you have ideas for me...

Plus Amsterdam was the best trip ever - a daytrip to remember and my friends really enjoyed it too - thank you Easijet!

I will change the address with the court Tuesday, then we will see.
