Thanks Snaggles - I know there's light at the end of the tunnel... but sometimes, it does feel as if it's an oncoming train!
:rotfl: I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but that was funny! Nearly spilt my peppermint tea giggling. :D

He he - glad I made you chuckle! ;)

Good day today - I am doing well on the 'Make Money From Nothing' Challenge (I'm ahead of my target for this week which is fab considering I started the challenge from £0 :D) and have also finally, finally managed to book a room in Koh Samui (Thailand) for Christmas (from 14 Dec to 1 Jan) - it was soooo hard as the island has been practically fully booked since summer! Who would have known it... when we last went it was easy, but then it was not Christmas!

Samui is where Mr EL proposed, so nowhere else would do - all say 'Aaaaaaaah'... :happyhear

Aaaaaaah, that is really sweet. Hope you have a fab time. It looks like an incredible place, I hope I can one day get over my fear of flying (and eventually have enough money) to go somewhere like that, but with a 6 year old, and another baby on the way, it will be a LONG time lol!

The only beach I have been to this year was Scarborough, and it rained (but I sat on that damn beach and didn't give in and go home for a whole hour! ). The fish and chips in the car on the way back to 'sunny' Leeds tasted nice though hahaha! :rotfl:

Slightly O.T., but have you thought about going on a "fear of flying" course? My friend was terrified of flying but got a job where she had to fly all the time. She went on one of these courses and it virtually completely cured her! Expensive but well worth it she says.

Yes, I think that once I'm in a position where I can afford a 'proper' holiday, I will give this a try thanks - I'm quite a rational person, so my fear of flying really irks me lol!

Fear of spiders is what gets me... I am petrified of them... makes me so scared... thoughts of spiders in nasty landladys house, however, makes me happy!

  • Hey Easylearner, did you see Saturday's Guardian? In their Cash section there was a piece about a guy in a very similar situation to you who got his money back after court action. If you are needing inspriration, take a look. Should be on their website.
  • Tx LittleSaint - will do - sounds like this won't be over for a while so I'll need some reading in the interim!

    Update 31 October 2006

    Hi all!

BIG update to let you know that today we received court papers to say that a judgement has been made in our favour - she has to pay £718.89 'forthwith'! :D

I know this isn't real money until we see it, IF we see it, but it means she can't mess about surely? What worries me is if she is no longer at that address, or has sold it, then what happens...

We are considering faxing the judgement papers to the letting agent tomorrow, asking them which party will be making payment, considering they are dealing with her and considering they hold our original deposit.

    Any ideas?

Still, a good day, even if I am at home off work with a cold!
