Would like to hear the breakdown of what the judge said, I though you would get the whole lot back.

Well done, EL! :T
I, too, will be curious to hear the breakdown and why so much of the deposit was considered a reasonable deduction, but hell, right now I'm sure you're just glad it's all done and dusted! That's gotta be worth thousands!0 -
i know EL will be back on later on with more details - she asked me to give the bare bones, as she knows how keen everyone is for the result !!
at least finger nails can stop being bitten now !!0 -
Thanks EL for thinking of us and Clutton for passing the message on.

Sorry to be a bit like Tim-Nice-But-Dim was the money awarded on top of your deposit or was that the sum total of what you received?
Well the main thing is that it is now finally over. I am so very pleased for you. Well Done Girl!!!!Scaryfairy :EasterBun

I'm so glad to hear that you won! I'm disappointed to hear the judge allowed some of the handwritten receipts, but at least you got a decent amount back, and that's a better position than you were in a year ago. Well done for having the tenacity to see things through and I hope Evil Lanlady has learnt her lesson.
I was reminded of this thread as I drove past Hove Crown Court earlier today and saw a camera crew outside!January Grocery Challenge: £200 Spend £158.99

Congrats EL! And for what it's worth, the Evil LL will still have a CCJ against her name, as a result of the court passing judgement. She can ask to have it lifted, and if she wants to do so she needs to get a written statement from EL testifying that payment was made within the 28 days allowed by the courts. And if she wants to do that, it'll cost her money! Victory!
Sorry, but not true. Only if she fails to pay the order within one month.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0 -
pru - does the loser have to get the winners written permission to avoid a CCJ even if they pay up within the time limit set by the judge ? i cannot see how that works as surely monies are paid into the court first who then send it on to the winner ?0

Getting anything at all out of that woman was a mammoth task, and I hope that you are enjoying your victory celebrations....
