Awww. Good luck, EL!EagerLearner wrote: »I have the day off tomorrow so may well post in the morning asking weird questions as the nerves kick in, although I hope they won't as by then anger and absolute conviction should be in the driving seat.
Rar! Go get her, tiger! You can do it!
Erm. I think somebody else had better try psyching EL up. It's really not my forte :rotfl:0 -
Good luck EL. Hopefully this will all get finished with, and wring the ...... out to dry.0

Hi all, well, erm, I'm up early... *sees the tumbleweeds roll by*
Anyways, I slept well considering, put a few drops of lavender on my pillow and a few drops of Dr Bach remedy on my tongue. Mr EL also made me a hot water bottle for my tummy as it was sore again...
So as of this morning, we think she is going to try and delay the process and say Royal Mail never left her a delivery slip to go pick up her packet. Hopefully the judge can see this is the 4th time she has not collected an item of ours and that we have written to each address she has given us.
Recorded / Special Delivery items:
Letter 1 was returned stating 'Not Called For'
Letter 2 was returned stating 'Addressee Gone Away' (even though she later confirmed in an e-mail that she received a copy of it and that mail to that address was being forwarded to her new address)
Letter 3 was returned stating 'Addressee Gone Away' (sent to her a few days after letter 2 that she said she had received!)
Letter 4 (court bundle) uncollected as of today's date
Thanks Clutton for contact details, will text you when we are done so you can post quick update and I will then fill in the details later on here xMFW #185

Lordy - best of luck EagerLearner...
I actually am a prospective landlady myself but your story was very reminiscent of the experiences I had before I bought my flat... and my heart goes out to you and Mr EL...
God knows - I would hate to be tarred with the same brush after this woman's behaviour, although I am going to be opting for agency-letting and fully managed service. I have been fortunate to have friends in the letting/chartered surveyor business who have advised how to budget for refurbs, wear and tear.
In my chats with the prospective letting agents, they have said that landlords (for a fully managed service anyway) don't actually hold the deposits anymore - maybe for this reason.
She really sounds like a mare... and having had my first deposit whizzed away at a time when i really could have done with the money, I'm rootin' for ya!
Good luck today... and rest assured... some of us (prospective) landlords are doing this to get our next step up on the housing ladder, and not out to fleece the unsuspecting.

I spent most of the day yesterday reading this thread. Pity I had not read it earlier as i live quite close and would love to have played detective for you. The very best of luck today against this evil witch and well done for standing up to her. She deserves to have a very great fall off her broomstick. At times i have been astounded by the way this has dragged on and i realy hope that you get a satisfactory outcome today. Again, all the very best of luck.Proud to have dealt with my debts.
