And already Januarys `saving` is going downhill!
DH`s grandfather is very poorly and has very little time left now (we`ve been told days.
He lives a long way from us and DH wants to see him before he passes. DH can`t get time off work so we plan to go Sunday when his off work (fingers corssed we make it in time)
The money i earn from my cleaning job will have to cover petrol expenses as DH has no spare money til payday AND the car is on RED sitting in the car port!!!
I got my wallpaper samples and have found `the one`.
Its not too costly considering its gorgeous! AND its just as nice as the £70 a roll one i fell in love with online but i hadnt checked price tag beforehand:rotfl:
So nothing in the savings kitty as yet! De ja vuDebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Yesterday DH`s grandfather passed away!
We got a call to say he had got worse and it was unlikely we would get to see him on Sunday. DH decided on the spot we had to go NOW!
SO bundled the children in the car and went to drop them to my parents (5mins away) only to find mum waiting by the gate to say grandad had gone
We still went, DH wanted to say goodbye so we called the home and they said they would wait for us to arrive (2hrs 26mins exactly!).
The drive was horrendous!!!!!! There was heavy queues by Heathrow and at one point cars were swerving and skidding to stop a pile up - why people speed i do not know there was signs stating `queues` miles before!! NEVER want to be in that situation again
By the time we got there (7.30pm) it was dark, raining, no lighting, cats eyes were not working on the M3 and the home was down a 3 mile lane which only fitted a single file traffic, luckily it was quiet and no oncoming cars!!
We stayed for an hour and a half then went to DH`s grandads house 5 mins away to see his wife for 30mins before heading home. We hit debris on the mororway coming home and i panicked thinking we`d burst a tyre but all is fine luckily it really was a nightmare night
We got home at 11.45pm picked the children up then went home. Poor DH had work today and didnt sleep all night.
£60 petrol the car drank and now we are back on the red, petrol is so expensive. He has the funeral on the 19th Jan and i`m not sure how he will get there. DH gets paid the last week in Jan
Today is his 35th birthday and his in a terrible state. He loved his grandad so much and despite me saying his no longer in pain and is now at peace its not helping!
Been an awful weekend.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Well the calm after the storm
DH is feeling a little better. I have worked out i can cover the petrol money by using my lil cleaning job earning and i have spoken to DH`s nan and said we will take flowers up in Feb when we visit with the children, she was fine with that!
They have some nice silk flower arrangements on ebay, cheaper then fresh flowers and last a while so `may` get one of those (could even sell a few bits to pay for it):money:
I have so many things to be doing this year, things i didnt manage to get sone last year. Its always money that stops it LOL!
I think i will be able to save a bit in Feb to get the rest of the decorating stuff so we can get started on the living room.
The kitchen needs tiling, i have found the tiles (nice but cheap as chips) BUT need a tiler
Then i need to start thinking about DS/DD`s birthdays in May, and also as we are not having a holiday i need to start think about days out - May even throw in some Free ones!:rotfl:DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Thank you. He will be missed very much so
It wont be the same when we go up there but i`m glad his at peace now no more suffering! The last few weeks his been very poorly.
I have never got on with my DH`s family so much so we have had no contact for 8yrs and even then it was our wedding day and they didnt speak to me! I have no idea why but they have never appeared to like me.
DH`d grandad has always welcomed me and been very much part of our family. He`d sit there holding my hand for ages chatting away and making me smile.
I am dreading the funeral as we will be seeing the family, i am going to keep myself to myself and keep a low profile as i want no issues arising on the day!
The mother in law has already been trying to cause an issue over where i`m going as i`m not welcome in the funeral car SO DH has decided we will go in our car instead. Then today we find out DH`s nieces (2 of grandads gt grandchildren) aged 8 and 10 are going - i don`t agree at all!
I spoke to DH`s nan yesterday and she was adament i was going in the funeral car with her - i declined!
Then she went on to say how they were all hypocrites coming when they never bothered before.
I understand its a 2hr drive so not a easy weekly/monthly visit BUT DH`s older brother goes 10mins from grandad on days out to longleat but never popped by to see his grandad. Grandad told me that himself!
Had we had more money for petrol we would of gone more often, we LOVE going up to see them.
None of the family saw grandad nor did they make efforts to visit or call him. The 2 great grandchildren who are going don`t even know him and met him once last year apparently! Grandad never met his other 4 gt grandchildren!
We visited 2-3 times a year and rang every Sunday. We sent photos and cards and kept in touch.
DH`s nan called to say he will be buried with a photo of our DD/DS - i felt so priveliged that out of 8 great grandchildren she chose to do this PLUS i feel warm inside to know he has a photo!
I just don`t understand families i really don`t.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

So much has happened since i was last on here!!
Firstly my laptop died on me ;( It has cost a fortune to repair £140 for repair, THEN i got a call saying the key number had rubbed off the bottom of my laptop so they couldnt put windows back on!!!
I had no paperwork for it, nor a disk for it i don`t think i ever had a disk, SO had to buy a new one £129!! After spending a fortune in phonecalls to Holland it turns out my laptop was originally a vista and they dont do the keys anymore hence why i never got a disk with it (i was sure i wouldnt of mislaid a disk). So i`m back online now with a very speedy laptop - its so quick!!
ANYWAY we had the funeral which was a lovely service, BUT i got treated terribly
Was such a stressful day i ended up with a major miagraine and was sick all the way home! As soon as i got home and had a hug with my mum i felt better instantly.
The following morning DD woke with chicken pox, she wasn`t ill with it though which was good. 10 days later DS woke with chicken pox LOL! He had it worse then DD and was a bit poorly for 2 days.
Poor DD has had a chest infection which came on on Thursday night, she is on antibiotics and much better now but she was very ill
Now my poor mum has it too - DH is currently with her at the doctors!!
Our cat we have had for almost 13yrs had to be put down aswellShe was very poorly and after spending over £200 she deteriated and we chose to have her put to sleep. We brought her home to be buried which saved some money and made us feel a bit better that she is here with us albeit in the ground. NO more pets for us now, we will notice a spare £20 a month!!
On a better note - i got myself a second cleaning job :j
DS is now nappy freesaves us a bit of money each month!
DH is off this week and we plan on painting a room, possibly the hallway OR kitchen!
We have SO much to do to the house and already its `nearly` the end of Feb!! I don`t think it will be finished this year :rotfl:DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Well this week has been quite a wipe out. I`ve had a rotten cold that appeared to tail off last weekend then reappeared and knocked me off my feet this week
Feeling much better today though. We went out and got the paint for the hallwaY, BUT the paint we had sampled for the kitchen is now discontinued Grr! SO we will have to leave the kitchen until i find something similar. (couldnt find anything similar today).
I have saved enough money for DS`s new bed and mattress which i am getting hopefully in the next 2 weeks or so. Bought some beautiful bedding for him too! Just need a duvet and pillow, mattress protecter and DS`s room will be completed!
I have started selling some small bits on ebay and so far all i have is watchers no bidders - hope they remember to come back and bid
Yesterday DH went to the bank and opened 2 junior isa`s for the children. These will be until they are 18yrs old which is better then the normal savers one where they get to take over the account on their 16th birthday!
I am hoping they use the money wisely - preferably not to touch it and to continue to save!!
I am going to be quite strict with the fact even though we struggled we helped to gather some money for their future!DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Ebay items sold :j YAY!!
I just went onto Toluna (been months since i last logged on) I have just over 60,000 points, so 20,000 more and i can get a £15 love2shop voucher
I feel much better, got 2 horrible coldsores that were so painful over the weekend. They have scabbed over now and are not sore so hopefully they will go in the next few days! My cold is much better but still lurking there!
On Sunday DH left me to have a lay in and when i woke up and came downstairs i found the children watching TV and DH had painted the hall :T It looks all fresh and clean now, and it really does look nice so i`m very pleased! Was a nice surprise to wake up too!DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Got DS`s new bed yesterday, snapped up a bargain it was a brand new single bedframe and mattress for £149 free delivery :j
DH found 3 mobiles at work in a rubbish heap so i sent them off today to envirofone and will be getting £19
I am now saving for DD`s wardrobe - STILL not got it and it is a big must!! Decided to get a cheap ikea one for now. I don`t like Ikea but it is the only place i can find a white plain one at a cheap price LOL!
Started to clear the garden today, cleared the flower bed, my pots are all ready for my seedlings and the patio and path is all clean.
Just got to dig out my seeds and get started on the veg,
My bulbs are all through and looks like they will soon be flowering.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

Its both the childrens birthdays in May so i have decided to get started already
I got a fireman sam play set today from Tesco which had £2 off so thats 1 of DS`s. He is fireman sam mad:rotfl:
Last night i got a few of DD`s off of ebay - glad i did as i looked in Tesco and have saved about £10!
She wanted a DS for christmas but we couldnt get it so i told her the birthday bear *MAY* get it for her birthday.
WELL adding up how much i can save from now to then i realised there was no way i could get one.
Last week she saw one advertised on the tv and mentioned it and i said `oh i don`t know if you will get one, but i`m sure you will get lots of nice things and maybe santa will get one of them for christmas`.
DH`s parents came over Saturday and announced they have got DD a DSi with assessorie pack and games!! Good job i hadnt got one LMAO!!
DD will be so happy!!! AND we are very grateful :ADebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j
