why do horse owners think they own the road ?

100% on tractors! I wonder if they have ever noticed the 3 mile of traffic behind them - Would they even care.
Don't even start me off on old people who drive in a stupid little Matiz/Micra/Toyota at 25 in a 60.
So essentially, moron, what you're saying is that you and others of your ilk should be the only people allowed on the road. But then who would you have to feel superior to?0 -
I understand that people on both sides of this feel strongly about their point of view and love a good debate as much as the next person. However, do people really believe that resorting to being insulting and rude gives any credibility to their arguement? It really spoils a good debate when it just becomes mud slinging and insults IMO.0

i love horses and hope to own one in the near future.
they have no purpose on the roads
er, you do realise that most rural roads were cartways before there was tarmac?
a lot of main roads between settlements were also originally built for horse & cart/wagon
therefore, the horses actually have precedence over you in a car0 -
....Then when you have appreciated the sky think about the meeting you are late for....
Always leave in plenty of time to complete your journey. Do not blame other road users for your lazyness/incompetence. If your meeting was that important that it was worth risking the safety of others then you wouldnt be driving an Audi.0 -

apes were around before all of us but you never see them on country roads ...................................
Except for those driving audis0 -
They do not have more entitlement what a load of tosh. Paved roads were created for cars who's drivers pay a tax for their upkeep.
Horses whilst allowed on the road should be on bridle ways, it is better for the horse and better for the drivers.
But i wouldnt expect a selfish horse rider to care much about anything other than themselves.
no they wernt
tarmacadam was around before motor vehicles
so were cobbled & paved roads0 -

The options are:
He's truly a sick individual and needs reporting to the police on a dangerous driving/attempted murder charge and possibly chucking in a cell with other child killers.
He's got a little penis/ never gets his leg over and ditto the above
or
He's a fantasist and is making it all up just to get a reaction. He drives a Micra and owns a chequered picnic rug, a thermos and two deckchairs.
You choose. I mean, what do you say to someone who is blatantly acting like a prize pillock? "oh thats nice... carry on... " ?
Its a bit like saying you enjoy torturing cats and expecting cat lovers to not say anything....0 -

Exactly my point. What's the need for that remark, I have actually been quite supportive of horses on the road earlier in this thread. My better half is also a considerate road user who wouldn't dream of not slowing right down and giving a wide berth to horses and their riders yet he drives an Audi so regardless of how he actually drives and the consideration he gives, you have labelled him an 'ape' in addition to the other generalisations you have made about Audi drivers in other posts.0
