Grateful - it is a discount shop - like Home and Bargains if that means anything to you (have a look on the Grabbit board). I will ask at work tomorrow what there is in Nuneaton. There is a very good all you can eat Chinese here that I went to a few months ago.

I am busy draft proofing finally. When I went to Ikea last week I got a pressure mounted curtain rod for the inner front door for £5. It has dangly clips instead of rings so my spare table cloth has been pressed into service as a curtain. I had a good root through the blanket box and found some curtains in the cupboard that my MIL gave me that are good quality and lined (even if they are very floral) so I am replacing both thin horrid pairs in the upstairs hall with these. They are cotton so I might have a go at dyeing them, I have some somewhere from a brief interest in tie dye. The Snug has two windows, one of which is very small but drafty - uncurtained since we decorated two years ago. I have found another pair of cheap thermal curtains which fit if I pin them up in half so they can go up too. I also found some long thermal linings from the old house that can be fitted somewhere. If I can find some hooks then I have a long pair that need shortening slightly for the equally drafty Living Room patio door. I will make this place warmer without spending more money that I don't have. What is shameful is that they have all been in the blanket box for two years and I haven't done it till now.

Well I have just finished cleaning up the cereal and milk dd has decided to decorate the living room with this morning ...........Im very annoyed and there is no telly or cbeebies for her this week now :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I dont know what has got into her latetly but everytime she has ten minutes downstairs on her own she decides to trash the house and doesnt listen to a word I say !!! I do not have a naughty step for her because in her room there is too much for her to do and also wreck , my stairs are open planned so its too easy for her to fall over and really hurt herself . But my patience is really running thin with her !!

The other morning my boyfriend came downstairs at 6.30 am and found the oven on fire because she had placed loads of plastic in there and a full bag of sugar along with whatever else {which I dont know because they were burnt to cinders } . Its a good job he is a fireman as I wouldve probably slept through and he recognised the smell .
As you can imagine her behavour is becoming very dangerous and I just dont know what to do with her... So your suggestions would be of great help to me , as she is perfectly behaved at nursery and at other peoples houses .
I have posted a thread if you have any suggestions please it would be a great help

But I have an absolute horror of having workmen in the place; it was mega-dreadful when we had the bathroom done - that took a week, and I was pretty much ready for the lunatic asylum by the end of it. And that was done by people we know!! Those people don't do whole kitchens, so we'd be talking about total strangers in my home. AAARRRGGGHHH I can't bear the thought!:(.
I know exactly what you mean - which is why I'd rather have the guys I know live in and drive me mad than have stranges in the place

Stepper doesn't take much room at all but it's heavy! It's now clean, too.
so ... have you tested it?

Greenbee am I right in thinking that if a laptop battery isn't holding charge freezing it (and letting it come to room temp again) might have an effect (now thinks she knows why has been given laptop;))
Might do. Freeze it in a watertight bag, then recalibrate (charge fully then run down fully...). Even so, a new battery is cheaper than a new laptop...

Afternoon all:D Does the white vinegar work on dog snot as well? It seems to be on most of the windows. The patio door is the worst though where the squirrels tease him:rotfl:

I'm not washing the curtains today because we (Well DH;)) hung new ones at the weekend:T

Mrs B... the vinegar is fabulous on screen too!!

Keys.. sit her on a chair in the kitchen and you ignore her and she is not allowed to talk to you and if she moves sit her back.. 5 minutes of sitting still and quiet.. if she gets up it starts back at the a full 5 minutes.. set a timer if you must but stick with it!

Sandy.. yes it works on dog snot, cat snot, child snot and bumprints!
