Morning all,
Have gone in to total meltdown here, OH started work Last Tuesday after being Unemployed since June last year, Back to his old firm on a cscs card (self employed but they pay tax, complicated!) anyway they have rang him this morning (his B'day of all days) to Tell him his UTR number was not activated so could take up to six weeks to pay him, they will take 30% tax rather than 24% because of this mistake and there is no more work after tomorrowOh but we might ring you in a few weeks with another couple of weeks! He has signed off from JSA, up the creek with the mortgage which was being paid by payment protection but has been stopped as he signed off. I am sat here in tears, 2 weeks work is 2 weeks work but it leaves us in a worse financial situation. Supposed to be going out for a meal tonight and really want to it's his birthday but shouldn't really be spending money we haven't got. I have a few £'s from this challenge but don't wanna delve in cos I am trying to act like it's not there. So sorry to bring this here, really I am. Just needed to get it off my chest, this week has been the week from hell.
***resume service as Normal****
HUGE HUGE HUGS!! I can relate and know exactly how stressful and scary it can all be. Is it possible to restart the JSA asap? Especially as the 2 weeks work is not a guarrantee at the moment but a maybe? Or am I getting that confused.I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Shell - get back onto the JobCentre and get him signed on again, if they call again, take the work, don't sign off, tell the JobCentre it is temping and they will just deduct it from his normal payments, then when it stops, he will not have to sign on again, it will resume JSA automatically.
DON'T PANIC!
If you have to spend the challenge money, then you have to spend it, most of us have dipped to sort out problems, its ok!
Get back onto mortgage people and tell them it was temping, they will help you get it sorted.
As for OHs bday, if he is anything like mine, go to the butchers, get a massive lump of steak ad pick up a bottle of plonk and a couple of candles, then wait for kids to go to bed! Or have you got a buffet style restaurant near you? me and OH do the all you can eat chinese for about £30 inc drinks (thats feeding DD too, so don't even have to pay for babysitter!), still really nice, just not so expensive!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -

Shell-take care hun what a bloody nightmare but you are strong and you can sort it. (why is it always the women who have to sort it btw....)
Cagne uk-you can pick up a leaflet from the post office (and its online) about the various costs of postage and weights, its very useful. make sure you add a bit on for jiffybags etc but not too much!0 -
yay yummymummy, bet you can't wait! btw, bout the trampoline, how old is DS? we got the £20 to start with for DD (she was 2 in nov), but the handle was really low so we took it back and upgraded for the next size up so it would last longer than 6mths, not much bigger in size, but handle a lot higher so will last longer.turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0

Morning all,
I joined yesterday afternoon but that's 12 pages ago now, lol.
Just wondering if anyone know the answer to my little question.
If I list items of clothing on ebay today and tomorrow, how do I set postage costs?
I sold a book a while ago and I barely broke even on it after posting. I don't want to list any items that will result in a loss.
The clothes will mostly be childrens but amongst them are some thick winter coats which I know that, if sold, they will cost a bit to send on.
What do others do regarding this???
I weigh items on the kitchen scales - not always easy or accurate - but gives you an idea- check on the Royal Mail website how much it will cost to send the item, add in paper, bubblewrap, padded bags envelopes or whatever and round up (I do this because Paypal takes a % of the whole amount you receive inc postage).
Or you can get the small leaflet from your post office telling you all charges - I wouldn't be without mine - very dog-eared now! If you are operating on a small profit margin postage costs will catch you out - been there done that - esp with Amazon.0 -

Or send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a p+p spreadsheet0 -
Thanks, I'll try and hunt it out online as I won't get a chance to nip to post office today.
What about listing? 3,5 or 7 day?
