The insinuation here being that only senior members know what they're talking about?

Being a senior member of a forum rarely equates to age, more to do with how often they post. Quantity does not always equate to quality
I was under the impression that Panasonic were top, too, but my knowledge is admittedly very limitedThanks to all who post constructively.

Exactly. It's also a shame that you interject with a negative stance when you haven't even seen it!gromituk wrote:I think you are getting muddled up full stop - the Panasonic is regarded as the best panel and costs an awful lot less than three times as much.
So how much more then? .....two times as much? Hey, what's another NINE HUNDRED big ones when you're on a moneysaving forum eh?0 -
I have to be honest, I would definitely go for this over the rear projection offerBe nice0

Fascinating discussions - I'm genuinely impressed with people's knowledge, really - thanks for the insights.
Having said that, when its a toss-up between Love Island and Big Brother....nightmare....then I'd use the money to go on holiday!
Try and get on.....

) and here. You simply can't call it "top spec" when it isn't, and you really don't inspire confidence in your claims about its picture quality.

Yum. Mini rolls.
In 5 or 6 years time, both this panel AND the panasonic will be almost valueless. That £900 extra you'll lose in depreciation on the Panasonic equates to ~£150 per year... That's quite a premium whichever way you look at it.
This is a budget panel, but on the face of it it does seems to be in a better class than previous sub £900 offerings. I don't imagine for a minute its circuitry is up to the videophile standards of the very best panels out there, but for many, not all, you're getting diminishing returns after a point.
For anyone wanting a decent plasma for under £900 this is almost certainly the best option currently available. For anyone who wants perfection at any cost, they'll get something else... Though what that type of person is doing reading this is a mystery to me.::Quidco.com - £1100 in 11 months. Kerr-ching! ::0
