this ia a pure comedy thread ... i haven't had such a laff for ages.

at the end of the day, people can google FJC and see if it constitutes a 'top-brand' and decide for themsleves.

i think that the tv is a good deal, however, i am going for the Panny at a higher cost, because i want the comfort of a 5yr warranty that comes with buying form JL. And no, I WILL NOT be paying their price for it, but will be getting it price matched from the likes of

    http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/index~modelcode~PAN-TH42PX60CAB.htm
    empire direct.

    or

    prc direct.

Thanks to the OP for letting people know that there is a 42" HD out there for a (relatively) low price.

    Meeten,
Could I ask for some detail - I have just looked at J Lewis website and they said they will not price match Internet stores - they will price match noremal Uk stores...
Do you know something I dont?
    Would appreciate clarification
    Thanks you,

Smashed...you're back - thanks for the free bump - I feel very important now :p:D

(& I notice how it's the small group of hardcore 'negatives' that are thanking one another! )

    You really are immature Hank.

We are not hardcore negatives. We are just trying to say that this TV is not a hardcore positive.
Its not surprising that you get banned on forums.

I will admit it, I am embarrased to be having an argument on a public forum. Yet you seem to be revelling in it.

The strange thing is that we are not even trying to argue with you.. yet you dont even see it.

PS: The amount of time you have spent on here replying suggests that you are every bit as geeky as us... but just less intelligent :(

smashed, you claim that Hank is 'revelling in it' [the argument] yet you are provoking him more...

you say that hank 'is just less intelligent' which is clearly going to make him post again.

you also claim that this is over him putting 'top-brand' in the thread title... well take a look at the rather more expensive 42" tvs which are lowest of the low brand TV's (the Beko's of this world)... even if FJS arent the at the top of the top-brands, they're certainly not a mediocre brand. And let's assume that they are only mediocre, what does it matter about it being in the title, people can read the thread, and if like you, are members of the top-brand gestapo, don't consider FJS a 'top-brand' they can jsut close the window.

time lost by you reading the first post in this thread before dismissing it: about 8 seconds.
time lost in this pathetic and childish argument: ....you tell me, i ran out of fingers to count on. (and that in minutes, not seconds)

    who's more immature again?

It's the words "top brand" in the title that I disagree with, and the conduct of the OP in the thread IMO detracts from what in all fairness does appear to be a genuine bargain
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Chris.. until now I havent made any comments about him as a person. I said I would stop replying, but am now fed up with all the derogatory comments aimed at me and any others who disagree with him.

Its quite simple.. if I found a Beko bargain, I would put..

    42" BEKO PLASMA £800

    6MP CANON CAMERA £150

Its not hard to get the title right. It wastes a lot of peoples time when people fail to put in "refurbished" etc in the title, just to make it look better. Like somebody on Hanks side said.. (not sure who) just make your own mind up.

If you want to make your own mind up, you dont start with a leading title, you start with facts. The fact is the brand name, and the decision as to whether it is any good rests with all of us as individuals. That we disagree is irrelevant.

If 'Microsoft' started making Baked Beans, would they still be a 'Top Brand' ?????

Smashed :- "We are just trying to say that this TV is not a hardcore positive". ........ How do YOU know this ?

Ok, a bit about the company...

    Shareholders:
    Fujitsu Limited, Tokyo (50%)
    Siemens AG, Munich (50%)

    Operating figures:
    Fiscal year: 01/04 until 31/03
Revenue for FY 2005: 6.65 Billion Euro
Profit Before Tax FY 2005: 121 Mio Euro
    Employees: ~ 6,800
Countries: 36 across EMEA (complemented by a number of additional Sales offices across EMEA, Research & Development facilities in the United States and further services and other activities in the Asian region)

German engineering coupled with Japanese Electronic 'know how' employing 6,800 employees with turnover of approximately £4 billion ...hardly a Tevion/Tiny is it?
