OS Daily Thread - Valentines Day

Good afternoon,

I have just finished cleaning the house from last weeks onslaught by the builders, and hopefully they will be back again tomorrow.... I joined Slimming World last week to try and get rid of the effects of the last 4 months comfort eating. I made SW Beef Stroganoff for my dinner last night, so I'm quite pleased with myself. I only used a third of the recommended ingredients and there's enough left for dinner tonight.

It's the first new recipe I've tried this year. We used to enjoy browsing through cookery books and choosing new meals to make, but it hasn't seemed like a good idea lately.

I've also bought the Ministry of Food cook book which promises to be an interesting read!

PP hope they get the stair lift sorted soon have to say think it was a good idea to take your break after the funeral thats what we did when my dad died and it was good to get away with my mum and just do other things after all the rushing around and have some clear thinking space

Planted jalepeno seeds currently on kitchen windowsill, repotted to geraniums that i got reduced y'day at b&q for 38p:money:.

Kids are eating popcorn picking out the burnt bits :rotfl:.

Well, we now have the house to ourselves, until later this evening

DD2 has taken herself back to bed. I figure she's tired

I've done a search on OS for potato recipes and came across this, which I'm going to try:

It was very easy to do and hopefully will taste really nice. I added some sweetcorn to mine, as DD2 loves her sweetcorn and it will be something different to have with our pork

Happy Valentines day for tbose who can be asd;) I am in a bah humbug mood where it comes to romance at the mo, even though the on off ex has sent me a lovely card, I can't reciprocate for a zillion reasons;);)
Had a no sleep night again last night, and am going to docs on Tues for help:o:oI've not been the same since Dad died
Have got to go back to Mothercare today to get a tag taken off DGD gorg new coat, am wondering whether to ask for petrol money for their negligence:rotfl::rotfl:
OS wise washing, drying and listing a zilllion things on ebay:D:D

anguk, :j:j so pleased for you all that Martyn is home. I'm sure there'll be ups and downs, but as long as there are more ups, he'll do much better now he's home.

Not been around that much, reading but nothing of note to post. Real life is being a bit demanding :cool:

Ooops forgot my OS content Making DH his favourite fish pie for dinner. DS3 is coming over to see us, that'll put paid to a romantic "pudding" :rotfl:

Just to say that I have also been given a bunch of Daffs as well as the willy plant;).......apparently even the florist said " they are a bit of an unusual shape till the flower comes":o
DS in foul mood for unknown reason.......shouting and hissing like a tomcat:eek:.
Chicken is in the oven and smells gorgeous.
Will give OH his card later.....DS has taken to insisting on reading everything in cards and txt messages which isnt always appropriate:o

Afternoon. Not posted for a few days, work has been pretty busy.

anguk - so pleased Martyn is home, thats brill news.

Don't do valentines day as been single for 9 years. Should have been working today, but I had to go in last Monday for a course, so off today instead. Am also off or half term, so have a week and a half off, hoorah!

As usual have just bummed about instead of doing anything productive. Had a lovely lie in though.

Have got a very strange pain in my side, its on the left hand side, hip kind of level, and nearer to the back than the front. The pain I can only describe as a stinging type pain. Nothing obvious on my skin, haven't bumped it. I think its possibly a bit swollen (although hard to tell when you're a bit of a porker anyway!! ). Hurts when sit down, stand up and lie on it. All very strange.

Anyway, the joys of tesco later. Kids won't be back til 5.30 as they're at their Dads.
