Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday 14th February. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning OS lovelies,

rose.gifHappy Valentines Day!rose.gif
welcome2.gifoneeyedandgreen - Nice to read you!
Bitsy - Well normally we only exchange cards but I think my OH felt he had to make a special effort this year. I sat and made him a card today while he was working.
Pipkin - Sorry you are still in pain and Happy Birthday to your daughter.
Sandy - hugs hon
Anguk - Hope Martyn is still improving
Natlie - crumpets sound fab! Sorry to hear you are not well.
bargain - glad your son is doing Ok again now
Annie - Hope your LO feels better today and that your daughter has a lovely birthday.
Redruby - we have a problem with our HG chillies in that they are so hot you only dare use one or two in a meal. This is despite my OH and I loving the kind of heat that sets your mouth on fire!
Kadeeae - The roses are lovely and some of them have opened up even more now and look gorgeous.
Taplady - wow you were busy yesterday!
Pippa - You were not rambling, I love reading you when you post.
flutterby and pipkin - I love 'Come Dine with me' too, even my OH enjoys it and he hardly ever watches reality stuff.
HShungry.gifBreakfast will be bacon sandwiches and sunday lunch will be gammon cooked in cola (a la Nigella) with roast potatoes and 3 veg. No other OS-iness to speak of I suspect!
I hope everyone has a peaceful and loving Sunday, and that anyone feeling poorly head%20cold.gif feels better soon. With love, light and squishy HShuggies.gif for all.

    Morning everyone :).

Hope you are all well, I didn't get on my PC at all yesterday due to waking up with an awful headache that turned to a migraine so I spent all day in bed :(

My DS2 took his younger bro & sis to his for the wkend, they are going to see his ice hockey team play.

Im not sure what the rest of the day will bring yet as still a bit foggy after the migraine.

Kind wishes and hugs to all :D

OH has really got into this money saving lark - surprise surprise its Valentines Day and he's not even made me a card, never mind bought me one. Its going to cost him!!!!

we're off to see family in n ireland tomorrow so have food in the fridge to finish - and what I can't I'm going to donate to the Andover Food Bank. Children start their swimming lessons today - hopefully I can return my library books at the same time. Have bread maker and washing machine on. Plus the boys are glued to the TV. Maybe I'll get some peace & quiet afterall!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning:D

    Been up ages as usual;)
Just having a coffee and a square of orange and sultana cake, I told DS it was a "breakfast muffin":o
Once OH gets up will do sausage sarnies for DS and OH and I are using some of the egg mountain by having spicy scrambled eggs (with chilli, tomato and coriander in them).
Making Roast chicken, pots and veg for tea later.
We have the school fish to clean out later:cool:
Thats all the OS I am doing apart from keeping on top of the washing and drying.
I made OH the red velvet cupcakes yesterday with red icing and love hearts iced onto them.....Have got him a card for later. I got an amaryllis plant (because it looked like a willy:o, ...and who says romance is dead lol)
We got to the music lesson yesterday although DS misbehaved through it due to wanting to stay at home to watch Horrid Henry:o
The swim party is also done and dusted for another month:j....DS loves it but I hate being in water especially getting my face wet so it is torture for me:rotfl::o:p....it is always freezing too.
    Have a good day all

    Morning all

Cold and damp here, so glad I'm not going out in it :)

    Girls are all still sleeping.

Another late one last night but the house will be back to the three of us by this afternoon.

I still have the pain down the side of my foot, but not as bad as yesterday thankfully.

    On to today.

Well, the girls are going to have a fair bit of cleaning to do :D

I've put a pork joint in the sc and will sort out the bm shortly. I also need to get the wm on the go as the amount of towels used this weekend :eek::eek:

Foundation has been spilled on the bathroom tiles, so that needs clearing off. Air bed and sleeping bags need putting away and the pile of dishes I am definitely leaving to DDs :D

My friend will be coming down later so it will give me a chance to unwind with a good natter :)

Hope everyone else enjoys their Sunday and Happy Valentines for those who are loved up :)

Hubby & I don't often celebrate Valentines day, well apart from the ususal, lol, but I did steak & chips with mushrooms for tea last night, YS steak, so £3 for the 2 of us.
Today we're having roast beef with roast pots, yorkies, parsnips, broccoli, peas & carrots.
Went to see where hubby's working yesterday, very posh & lots to keep him busy.
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

  • Morning All

Happy Valentines Day if you celebrate it - we don't :D

Very frosty and brrrr here again - looks nice outside all white and glittery but have just had to turn up the heating again (luckily have a massive credit on my gas account at the moment)

Had a lovely meal in Chinatown yesterday but boy was it busy - could hardly move around Covent Garden. Treated myself to a nice cup and saucer from Kath Kitson. Pouring with sleety rain when we left which put a dampener (literally) on things.

DS had a visit from his old football manager last night and has agreed to sign back on for the rest of the season so thats means my next few weekends are mapped out - as long as he is happy then it will be ok.

Have mum & stepdad coming over in a while, stepdad is helping OH do some bits in the garage to save us some money. Am cooking them roast later but had already got out the lamb (from M&S deal) which is looking a bit small for all of us so think will do roast and mash today to stretch it.

Jumping in the bath in a minute then will get on, won't get much done today as have guests.

    Have a good one.x

    Good Morning....
Happy Valentines Day and Happy Chinese New Year. We have having a Chinese meal to celebrate although DD is still in Cornwall. We know Cornwall very well so she was showing her friend the sights. Her friends parents have just moved down there and DD wants to move down there now....I wish!

Usual OS today with washing and ironing to organise. My cleaner is able to come this week which is a relief as i have a busy week with hospital appointments.

I intend to make some cakes to keep us going with half-term week today as I have some eggs that need eating up. Looking forward to Pancake Day on Tuesday.

    Have a lovely day,
    Mollyxxxx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

    Happy Valentines :)
thank you for all the birthday wishes for my daughter, she had a lovely day in the end and got some really nice presents too.
Think my little man is over the sickness, we don't think it was a bug but too much fruit juice (too much acid in his tummy) that caused it.

Anyway today we've got packing to do, think we're going to sort out our clothes.
Then i'll do a tip run on the way to work.

I hope everyone has a lovely day
    xx
