Morning peeps
icy outside today again  it took me ages to scrape the car as it was unbelievably thick, on the good side i started w*rk a bit later today with it being Sunday so i had an extra hour in bed and it was just starting to come light a little when i left. I can`t wait for the proper light mornings :j
Happy valentines to everyone, DH managed to get two bunches of flowers which go together really nicely so they are in a vase on the fireplace. We don`t normally bother and haven`t sent cards so it was a nice surprise :happyhear:love: i shall make him a cheesecake on my first day off next week as they are his favourite dessert.
I`ve stolen things from various days on my meal planner this month so i`ve no idea what we are eating later
i shall update it shortly and text DH so that he can get whatever it is we are having out of the freezer ready for me to cook. This week seems to be moving along really slowly so i hope that the next few days speed up a little as i`m looking forward to a couple of days off.
Pipkin - Good to hear that your leg is on the mend
Halight - nice to see you posting.

Morning all
Happy Valentines Day
Just had my breakfast made by OH and got a lovely card and some Ferreros (my faves) from him. I got him a card and always get him a Toberlone every year lol
Had a nice chinese meal last night from the offer at Morries. There was plenty to go around - good value! Today we might go to the pictures not sure how the day will pan out yet.
Halight - lovely to see you posting again!
Anyway have a good day everyone

Morning everyone, I haven't posted before in the daily thread but just had to come and share the lovely thing DH did for me for valentine's day!
Instead of spending money on a card, he bought me a set of red silicon muffin cases (which he knew I'd been wanting), and waited till I'd gone to bed last night, found my favourite muffin recipe book and stayed up very late making a batch of buttermilk muffins in the new cases as a surprise for my breakfast this morning!
If you knew my husband you'd realise what a nice thing to do this was because he's a very reluctant cook, frets over everything and is terrified of getting it wrong, but they turned out lovely and I was very chuffed.0 -

Morning all,
Cold and frosty here, I am sitting watching the birds on the feeder outside the window, they seem to have a rota system going, each bird had their alloted time, then another one who is waiting in the hedge pushes them off and they go to the end of the queue:rotfl:
OH and I decided not to do valentines cards today, we spent a lot of money yesterday on the flooring for dd's bedroom, and we both decided we did not need to get each other a card. We will have a nice meal one day during the week when dd is away.
Today we need to get dd packed and ready to go, I need to print off the tickets for them and check them in online, sisters internet is playing up.
I have a ys pork shoulder for dinner, reduced to £3, it should do OH and I for at least three dinners each :T will do some roasties and roasted squash and sprouts.
I have a wash on at the moment, and will go and strip the beds in a while and get them on to wash.
I really hope the electrician comes tomorrow, so that we can crack on with dd's bedroom while she is away.
DD is going to my sisters after tea today, they need to leave at 5 tomorrow morning , so will have to be up very early, thats going to be a shock for dd :rotfl:
Just had some cheese on toast for breakfast, it was lovely, have not had that for years. Need to hoover through today and hopefully get OH to start hanging some of my pictures.
Ok have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
Stayed in bed a bit later this morning DD went down to watch TV with the older two and while I didn't get a sleep-in it was lovely not having to get out of bed at daft o'clock.
Cooked gammon in the SC yesterday afternoon with a little veg stock, celery and lentils - the resulting soup is lovely - had a cup for supper last night!
I'm just having a coffee then I need to wash last nights Dinner pots ( couldnt be bothered last night and my DW is playing up!) and then I need to prep dinner (just having cottage pie) and do some baking - copied a few nice recipes off here yesterday so I think I'll let DD 'help' - she likes to 'tickle' the mixture!. She informed me yesterday that she wants an apron and it has to go over her head like a proper cook. She watches 'I can cook' on cbeebies and the kids all wear aprons! I can't think where I've seen them....
Time to wriggle, have a good day

Morning all,
A lovely Valentines day to all who celebrate. My card to OH was free from our local resource centre some years ago (hows that for cheap skate). I refused to pay £10 for red roses in mr T's so bought a small £2 spray of white ones.
What did OH do ? Arrange the roses and add "to both of us from both of us" on the card.
I've got a lovely 2 rib beef joint on slow in the oven, with roasties and lots of greens for later.
I'm going to nip over to Morrisons later and see if they have still got their bogof garden planters, ours are well past their use by date
