thanks for all your help, I rarely venture over here, but whenever I do (normally in a panic!) everyone is always very kind and helpful!
You can set it to only MAC codes are allowed (Each item capable of using the router has a unique code, so ONLY those can access it)
Change the passkey too obviously
Dont allow the SSID to broadcast
Id also change the ebay and paypal passwords (Obviously)
make sure all passwords are hard to crack (nfOu3q4bNvq32135vgjk):idea:0 -

Agreed, but using aliEnRIK's MAC code suggestion just adds that extra layer of security.JustPassingBy wrote: »Not with WPA and a 63 character password.
A note to say you don't necessarily need something like that which is hard to remember. Your password could easily be something likemake sure all passwords are hard to crack (nfOu3q4bNvq32135vgjk)

Aren't two of those a bit pointless? You can set it to only MAC codes are allowed (Each item capable of using the router has a unique code, so ONLY those can access it)

the only problem I have is if I make my passwords look like that I have to write them all down, in one place so I dont lose them...
"MyBestFriendIsEbay" is memorable and very strong as a password.0 -
I wouldn't call stopping the SSID broadcast and MAC filtering pointless.
Each layer of security helps prevent unauthorised access so the more layers you have, the more of an uber geek is required to access it.
Would a door chain stop a burgler getting in?? of course not, but that doesn't mean they are pointless.0
