  • I promised to keep people informed on this but it looks like I have been beaten to it. But here's a review from the lipglossiping blog.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but if you have sensitive skin the best wipes are..... Lidl Sensitive Baby wipes. Last time I stocked up they were £1 for a big pack.

I've tried expensive ones and they tend to be too harsh because they are not as soft, even the sensitive ones.
They are good, cheap and twice the size, highly recommended.

Some great recommendations here. I have some of my own that are can't live withouts now, here goes :

I replaced my YSL touche eclat with the Technic version £1.99 from bodycare it's brilliant.

Instead of St Tropez Tanning Mousse I now use St Moriz Mousse £2.99 from T J Hughes - Google it the reviews on this stuff is amazing and it's fantastic.

Aveeno Skin Relief Body Lotion £4.99 (but sometimes on offer 3 for 2) - I have always had eczema since a young child and tried so many body moisturisers - this is the best I have ever used and every one I have recommended it to has tried it and loved it too.

I think you can't beat the Rimmel Soft Kohl Pencils and the Boots 17 eyebrow shaper is the best I have ever used - Both approx £3.

I couldn't live without Carmex Lip Balm £2.49 - I actually panic if I can't find mine (Sad I know)

I used to use the superdrug radiance balm 10 years ago when I was at college, I might revisit this after reading this thread. I tried the aldi Q10 moisturisers but they bought me out in tiny spots.

As a cheap face mask I grind up Quaker oats and mix with water - it turns into concrete on your face but is excellent for dry sensitive skin.

Brilliant ideas, thank you so much, I've just written a beauty shopping list :)

Beverly Hills Whitening Toothpaste sensitive Gum Strenghtening is 99p at Superdrug girls. White Teeth complete your look! xx
  • Technic Whipped Blusher Mousse - I bought this from Bodycare for around £3 a few months ago (also available online - http://www.lovethymakeup.com/brand-technic-10441). Very similar to the Maybelline mousse blusher. Non-greasy and blends really well. The range also has mousse eyeshadow, foundation and double-ended mascara for under £4 (I haven't tried these...yet!).

9 1/2 Winks Mascara from Primark - Costs around £2. Doesn't flake, stays put all day and goes on very evenly - I'm very impressed with this product! And the packaging is fantastic.

Creme de la Mer £100 per jar, John Lewis
TRY : Blue Green Algae Moisturiser by Aubrey Organics £9.14 mynaturalmarket.com
OR (to keep it under a fiver) : Nivea Soft £3 per jar, Superdrug / Dead Sea Spa Magik Algimud Active Seaweed Face Mask £3.45
All contain pretty much the same ingredients list, only Nivea Soft doesn’t have Algae Extracts. However, as someone pointed out on a pretty useful beauty forum I refer to regularly; Creme de la Mer doesn’t specify which Algae it uses or in what volume, etc, and although it is the active ingredient you would never find me spending £100 a jar on face cream – even if it had eternal youth properties! Creme de la Mer costs less than £20 a jar to produce, so stick with the middle option from Aubrey Organics if you can afford to splash out, otherwise use Nivea Soft which has a 90% match on ingredients with Creme de la Mer and couple with a once a week treat mask from Dead Sea Spa.
