Did anyone get a scart lead with theirs? I bought two players and didn't get a lead with either (despite the website and magazine saying one is included). Ta

Found this, haven't checked it yet:

To make this player region free:-

Turn the player on, press 'Open' to open the drawer then type 1030 followed by the region you wish to set (0 for region free, 2 for region 2, etc.). A message will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen to confirm the new region setting.

That works. I've just been on the phone to Akura. That's what I was told to do over the phone. It worked.

I should add that when you press 1030, nothing will show up on screen. It will say Region 0 as soon as you press 0, though.

Asked about multiregion hack last night on Digital Spy and got this reply, not at home so cant try it at present - same as posted above though so looks like its fine:-

Just bought one today i already have a Goodmans GDVD161DX and the software is very close tried the hack below and it worked a treat, i was a bit let down that the player didnt play nero files as suggested on the aldi website. ill ring support and ask about firmware upgrade

How to convert your Goodmans GDVD161DX player into a multi-region compatible machine

To convert this player to multi-region
1. Power off your DVD player
2. Power on your DVD player
3. Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray
4. Press the 1 button on your remote control
5. Press the 0 button on your remote control
6. Press the 3 button on your remote control
7. Press the 0 button on your remote control
8. Press the 0 button on your remote control for multi-region playback
9. The onscreen display will indicate the currently selected region
10. Power off your DVD player
11. Power on your DVD player
NB: You may need to reset the parental controls after performing this procedure

About 15 or so in mine which is close to their head office in Atherstone.

that would be the new Atherstone store then? I assume it gets the most stock seen as its walking distance from their UK warehouse.

Aldi is a regionalised company. It has a head office and warehouse for each region. In East Anglia, Aldi's HO and distribution centre is in Chelmsford. There's no such thing as Aldi's "UK warehouse".

Ok, where do I start.
Tried the divxtest cd and it had some qpel and isit gmc files that played and xvid played too so there is something with those files to look for, mind you it did skip many files. Atleast it has menu so you can folders etc and differnt icons for files mp3, jp and avi etc .( in prefernce there is option for lacales which lets you select tiwan japan usa gbr so I thoght you could choose your own region there.)

It plays subs fine only taged subs are not supportd also multi audio on files works ok too. Anyother test you want me to do pls post here and linkt o the file you want me testing.

I will probably get the chili of svp if it ever comes in stock with their 99p dlvry (dream on)

Sorry, yes I meant the Main corporate head office of the company in the UK rather than warehouse. you could speculate then that all the stores closest to the warehouses have the most stock?
