I haven't yet found any avi's it won't play. Tried about 8 off a DVD, and an episode of Lost from a USB memory stick. Both worked a treat.
The 4 digit region free code also worked ;-)0 -

It plays DVDs fine but is a bit dodgy with divx. Once it starts playing the file its fine, but often it gives errors when i try to play the files and it wont even start. Has anyone else experienced this?
Change the setting to SuperSmart (or something that like). Voila - jitters gone.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Is your HDD formatted in FAT? If not, it won't work properly. Also, if it's not a 2.5 or 1.8 HDD, it will need its own power source. As stated earlier, mine plays everything I've thrown at it (through USB, including a USB key).In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I think if you're main reason for buying is the USB, then you may be on a sticky wicket. I see it as a bonus, not the main reason. I guess if it's your main reason, just take it back0

Are these machines the Akura ? Went to the local Aldi and they had about 20 but were marked as £21.99 and no mention of Divx capability.0

They are akura, but are branded Medion.
It's not the £21.99 one allthatmularky, that's a different one.
It clearly mentions mpeg4 playback on the front.0 -
These machines aren't branded Medion. They are Tevion machines, but made by Akura. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
