The £19.99 ones are AKURA ones the Divx ones are in a Green/black box and are TEVION badged. Doubt you'll get one now (one week on) but you may get lucky.

My remote control also not working.

definitely not my incompetance, just doesn't work!!

Player is A1 otherwise. DivX playback is SOOOO much better than prvious machine.

Fingers x'd Aldi can sort me out a new remote and/or player!

    Anyone had a remote prob they've solved?

If anyone is interested, I swapped my faulty unit today, and got a working replacement. Great player - very happy! :T

BUT: apparantly they'd had 2 players back out of 32 sold... plus mine = 3 out of 33... 1 in 11 were returned as faulty! That's a SHOCKING quality level.

No it ain't! 1 in 6 electrical appliances (tv's vid's etc) that are sold in the UK are built faulty. So 1 in 11 is NOT shocking. Rather good really.

REALLY?? I've designed electrical consumer products in the past, and we'd be looking at a few hundred failures PER MILLION!!
  • The return figures for one shop is hardly a measure of accuracy. The two stores local to me have hand none returned. If you really want the stats for this, you'd need the figures for all the stores in the UK.

Anyone else finding that these are really noisy (whirring noise) when playing discs? It's enough to make me take it back!

I returnd mine, If you have more than 20 files on dvd divx than it got had to navigate etc, so I am divx less ones again, I hope wh-smith have the yamadas or someing other than cyberhome back.

mindyou I am sure the cyberhome 401 the menu will be quick, as I have had cyberhome 400 and I loved it it was quick I could navigate through loads of mpgs very quickly.

This player just spun spun and then swiched itself off and still spun, strange, anyway gone back
