boxes - my 2 boys loved boxes
So did mineI had to hide my laughter (they don't like being laughed AT) when Jarvis stood in a too small shoe box, he was about 3. He went to sit down but it was too small and after hovering for a few seconds with knees bent he just stood in it for a while as if that was the intention afterall.
Bless his little whiskers.

Oh, her name's Willow! DH wanted to call her Sh1tbag until I said he could take her to all vet appointments then.
Funnily he is the most opposed to her and as soon as he sits down she appears and takes up residence on his lap!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Talking about card boxes you can get these from your local shops/supermarket, you can get loads for cats/kittens to play with.0

We have 2 kittnes (10 months old) and in the last week they have been invested with Fleas. They are everywhere in their sleeping house, blankets and now all around the house (curtains, rugs etc).
Now as a quick fix we got them Bob Martins from Tesco now is this any good? Alsp we are looking to get something for the home what can we use?
Any help would be great
Also are fleas year round things or just summer months?0 -

I'm afraid that supermarket/pet shop stuff really is a false economy, you need a proper veterinary grade flea spray for the house and vetrinary grade flea drops for the cats. The most popular is probably frontline, this used to only be available from the vets but you can now get it without a prescription from online pet pharmacies and high street chemists. I get mine online from www.vetuk.co.uk , 6 for £16.49 including free delivery.
Given the urgency of the situation I would get a pack of 3 from your vet, you will need to check with your vet how soon you can apply flea drops to the cats now that you have already given them the Bob Martin stuff.
For the house you'll need a vet grade product again - I use Indorex, some other good ones are Acclaim or Staykill. The Indorex gives 12 months protection and also kills dustmites which none of the other ones do, it's £10.46 inc free delivery from vetuk. You'll need to treat the whole house - carpets, curtains, cushions and wash any pet bedding on a hot wash.Mr_Kennedy wrote: »Also are fleas year round things or just summer months?
Now that houses have central heating fleas can be a problem all year round but are more common in the summer months. Don't forget that if your cats have fleas then they will more than likely have worms, ask your vet how often they'd recommend worming based on your cats' lifestyle. My two aren't hunters so I worm them every 3 months with Drontal - available from the vets or the online pet pharmacies, they're £1.42 each from vetuk.0 -

I agree, my vet told me something along the lines of; if the cat does not have fleas then Bob Martin et al. may be okay for prevention but when it already has them it is completely useless' (I already found this out by that point because we had already tried it!) I bought frontline from the vet and fleas were gone, i think its expensive for a reason.0 -
I want us to get a cat, because there have been lots of bugs and mice and a cat is good for keeping them away. I am no stranger to cats, I am good with them and we have had a few cats in the past, our last one ran off, though I do still see him, someone sort of "catnapped" him and I let them keep him (they made him really fat!). However we do not want any fleas due to allergies, basically how can you completely prevent fleas from a cat?0
