i had frontline combi prescribed for my cat - which worked pretty well, also bought indorex (we tried all the supermarket and pets at home products without joy) and sprayed the house, combed him and hoovered daily for about 2 weeks and they were gone. can anyone tell me the difference between frontline combi and regular frontline? is it a stronger product? i think you have to have a prescription for the combi. would i be able to get away with using the non-combi version as a preventative measure - he currently doesnt have any fleas (as far as i know!) - thanks!0

Frontline combo is a more effective product
basically adult fleas can lay up to 50 eggs in 24 hours. towards the end of frontlines life on the pet it may take over a day to kill the adult flea. therefore the flea is able to lay eggs and the circle continues.
frontline combo is more benifical as any of the eggs that will be laid will not hatch therefore preventing and infestation and breaking the circle[EMAIL="abuse@moneysavingexpert.com?subject=Reporting post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=16727673"]

We don't have any pets and have lived in our current house for over five years. Not long after we moved in we had a flea issue which we assumed was due to fleas/eggs in the one carpet we hadn't ripped out and skipped at the time, but the problem has resurfaced over the last couple of weeks.
I've now been bitten 50-60 times , mostly on the lower legs, but my daughter was the first to be bitten, coincidentally the day after her friend who has cats had spent the afternoon in her room, so we assume we have an infestation of cat fleas.
The local council will treat the house for £40 but I really don't like the idea of all those nasty chemicals all over my house - does anyone have a better suggestion to solve our problem or will I simply have to give in to my other half's pleas to make an appointment with the council fumigator ?? (We've been hoovering and washing bedding/ clothing very regularly since the problem started.)0 -
You can buy a can of household flea spray such as Vetkem Acclaim or Indorex from an online pharmacy for around £10-£12 so no need to waste your money paying the council to do exactly the same job
The ones I've mentioned above are veterinary grade products and highly effective. Don't waste you rmoney buying supermarket or petshop products either.
It seems highly likely your daughter's friend brought the fleas into the house, but it's also possible for any member of your family to bring them in on footwear and clothing too just from walking on the grass!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
