i'm itching like mad now:rotfl: my kitten is getting fed up with me having another look at her . i just want to get rid quick. if i get them quick i hope they wont get in my funiture she sleeps on the sofas and everywhere how on earth am i going to cover everywhere and be sure there gone ??
Frontline you kitten and the same day use Indorex all through your house. It will take a few days for all the fleas to die off but you should see an immediate improvement.
See the thing is, time you have noticed fleas on your pet - your house is already infested and the flea cycle has started - that takes a while to stop but the Indorex will stop it - and keep it stopped for a year. Just remember to add it to your spring clean routine and fingers crossed you will never have a flea infestation again0 -
Frontline is brilliant and it can be used on kittens from 8wks old.

Sorry if this is a daft question or it has been asked before (I did try to do a search without success).
My question is, my Vet always sells me Frontline Combo for my cat's regular flea treatment. Now looking on some links posted on ths forum I see Frontline 'Spot On' seems popular and is cheaper. Is there any difference between the two products?
I don't begrudge paying whatever to make sure my cat is protected but if I can save a pound or two and if the products are the same then I might buy 'Spot On' instead.
Many thanks

Isnt it much cheaper online than a vets?0

Frontline Combo treats the envirnoment too, it combines Fipronil (the active ingredient in Frontline) and S-methoprene which is an environmental agent.
The difference between them is that the Frontline only kills adult fleas, whereas the Frontline Combo also contains a growth inhibitor against the larval stages of the fleas, thus also giving some environmental protection.0 -

They are both "spot-ons"; i.e. you spot them on the cat rather than spraying them on. So you are left with a difference in name "frontline" versus "frontline combo". The former contains fipronil, which kills adult fleas. The latter contains fipronil and another chemical, (S)-methoprene, which prevents the development of flea larvae.
The advantage is that with frontline, you may still end up with a flea infestation in your carpet. With frontline combo this is very much less likely.
Whether this is going to be worth you paying the extra for depends upon a lot of factors such as the exposure of your cat to fleas and how worried you are about the prospects of fleas living in your carpet.
In most cases with outdoor cats, I would personally rather block the flea life cycle in two places, but then I react quite badly to flea bites, and wouldn't want my carpets crawling with fleas.
Speak you your vet. They should be able to justify what they recommend.
Whilst you can purchase both frontline and frontline combo online, you will need a prescription from your vet for the latter, and the percent saving you see will be far less than for the former.

is it true that if they have fleas they are more than likely got worms ?
There is an increased risk of them getting one type of worm, yes. But cats get lots of types of worms from lots of different places, so it is very important to use a wormer regularly as well as a flea treatment.0
