If in doubt - go to the vet and let them have a look :) No offence to pet shops but they are NOT vets and shouldn't be giving that kind of advice.
Yes a vet visit isn't free but if it's serious and doesn't get treated soon then the bill could be MUCH higher!
And always frontline your pets - especially in spring and summer :)

Frontline spray is the only product I would suggest you use on kittens of this age, and the Spot-On version is not suitable because you would be overdosing them. You need to contact your vet and arrange for your cat and kittens to be checked so you can get some spray. Don't forget it isn't the vet's fault that they cannot legally dispense Frontline Spray over the counter - they have to have examined the animal. But if they have seen your cat within the last 3-6 months they might be willing to give you a bottle without a consultation.

Please don't waste your time with over-the-counter products or old wives' remedies - flea burdens are not only distressing for animals but in young kittens can actually lead to anaemia.

I would ring your vet and ask his advice.

I know you have to be very careful when treating kittens for fleas and I think a prescription treatment may be your only option.
Yor sister's right, fleas are dangerous to kittens, they can soon make them very anaemic.
  • Please ring your vet.

Don't try guessing at any methods you could use. Please ring your vet and ask for their advice. Trying to treat the flea problem without a vets advice on such young kittens could cause alot of harm to them.

Hello. I noticed my cats had got fleas so i treated them with frontline £11.75 for one months cover for two cats (can i get this cheaper online??) anyway, the cats fleas went with no problem. but the last few nights i am being eaten alive! its just around my ankles, hubby isnt affected  . I brought a flea and insect house spray and have sprayed the rooms several times including the mattress and duvet cover.

The only thing i can do to not get bitten is to apply a thick layer of baby oil on my ankles so they just slip off :p

Is there anything else i can do to get rid? I can't see the fleas (have tried looking for them without success but i have the wounds to prove that they are there!)

Tea Tree oil can be good - they don't like the smell and its antiseptic qualities can sooth and prevent infection from SCRATCHING. Its me that always gets bitten in our household so I know what you mean - but, I also get bitten by gnats also. Silly question, as you can probably tell anyway, are you sure these aren't gnats - they linger in the grass and bit the bejaysus out of me when I put out the washing and they nearly always bite the ankles.!!!

One for sure of telling is wear white socks or slippers around the bedroom - fleas seem to be more active in lower light so you may notice a few on your socks in the night and you will have the proof once and for all that the little b's are still around.
