Reclaimed Bank Charges SUCCESS stories

Hi all,
Received a letter today from Barclays (sent letter on 06/12/06 requesting repayment and gave them 14 days) saying that they are looking into my concerns and will answer or update as quickly as poss, but no later than the 10th January.
Is this the usual retort?, or are they stalling or is it possibly due to great influx of demands.
I am desperately trying to get them done and dusted before they pull the shutters down!0 -
does anybody know if you can make a claim against a bank if you have closed your account with them.0

Hello,
looking at my bank statements and going through the process, i decided to have a look credit cards statement and realise how blind i have been over the past years. Can anyone tell me if i can reclaim late payment and over limit fee on credit card?
also i have phoned up my credit card company and asked them for previous statement but they told me that i will be charged 3£ per statement, is this correct? or can i write the same letter (data protection act) with 10£ fee.0 -
hi all,
I am finally pulling my finger out and contacting Halifax to claim back the many charges they have applied at £39 a go. I wasted a telephone call to them today wondering if they would be nice as I was only talking about removing two charges, but as they were like "so what?" I have decided to get them for the whole lot. I have had two accounts with Halifax (one old cardcash which is closed, and my current account) and I'm wondering if i have to pay the £10 data protection fee twice?
Sorry - also do i have to write two seperate letters or can i request details of charges for both in one letter?
Best wishes to all
Sx

Can I claim back "late charges" on my credit card invoices? I have just finished calculating the charges on my current account (lloyds TSB} going back six years and was amazed to find a total of £840! Is this step by step guide "bullet-proof" or is there anything I should be aware before sending the 14 day letter and putting the law to the test? I don't want to get tripped up on some technicality like sending it to the wrong address or suchlike.0
