Yes, maybe you are right - we would have to get 2 rooms - do they have an adjoining door? It wouldn't be much of a problem because our eldest is 17 and really good with the youngest.
    2 bedrooms - £9 a night x 7nights is only £126!!!:j
    2 bedrooms - £19 a night x 7 nights still only £266

Yes you would need to book two rooms but I don`t think they have adjoining doors.
However I have always found TL staff most helpful and I`m sure they would give you rooms next to each other.

If you go to their site and register for emails you will know about the next £9 sale although it is well flagged up on these boards.
  • I've subscribed to this thread now cos I really want to know how it all turns out for you! I really admire your spirit in making a good holiday despite the hiccup!

I have been to both Edinburgh and Glasgow for long weekends and loved both places. I went in Jan and Feb so although cold and occasionally rainy it was still nice!

I've stayed in the Travelodge in Glasgow city centre and I can say it's in a great location. I book loads of travelodges for me and my friends to stay in and whenever I've booked 2 rooms we always get rooms next door or opposite each other without having to ask.

    HTH and good luck!

Have you thought about booking a cheap few days away flying out from Glasgow the same dates as you fly in??:)

I live in Scotland and know how wet, windy and miserable it can be in October.

I'd not go back to Craig Tara, the standard of caravans was dropping year on year.

Yes, had a look - it's at least an extra £400 minimum - and I would have to get the flights to match or go say from the Saturday (meaning paying for a hotel room).

So far I have the choice of 1 apartment that 1 of our lovely forum members has found for me - just need to find out what the area is like or Travelodges when the sale comes.

GlasgowJackie am going to sent you a message.

Anyone know what the area near Glasgow Green is like? Ok for us Griswald type family to venture round at 9pm on a cold October night?

The postal code area is G40 - anyone know what it's like? 10 min walk from the City Centre
  • Is this any good http://www.unique-cottages.co.uk/search?region=1066&sleeps=5
The minimum appears to be £495 for the week (sat-sat) but it is Edinburgh.

Need to go Friday-Friday really - I've narrowed it down a bit to Glasgow. Thanks for looking.

I really want an idea now on what G40 is like as a place to walk through (10 min walk from the city centre) near the people's palace - does anyone know what it's like please?
  • Dont know that area myself, I am not in Glasgow, you might get a better response on the Scottish Board.

Never knew it existed (blush), have just left a message on there.
  • That's a shame. If it was the week before you could have tried a house swap or stayed at our house -we go away that week. The have holidays that week

on the Fife coast. You could swap with someone there?

I looked through gumtree and saw this -could you squash up -this is near the city centre.

There will be something I'll keep thinking you have lots of time.
