Just to let everyone who has been following the thread:
Have found a beautiful apartment to rent that fits us all in (without the need of a broom cupboard) and is just in our price range - in the centre of Glasgow.
I'm paying the deposit today.
Many thanks for helping me.xx.

Congratulations on getting accomodation sorted (I hope it's not the one at Glasgow Green).
While in Glasgow visit the Peoples Palace museum, it's interesting and free then just past it go onto the play park which has 4 (I think) big spiral slides and a sensory garden.
Scotland Street school is also good as it shows the different stages of education, from the days of the rule of the cane etc. The building was also designed by one of Glasow's most famous architects, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, you will see his designs on everything, cards, mugs etc, (We're awfa proud o the bloke).
Check the forum nearer the time for deals on Scotrail, they have being doing deals recently for £15 return for a adult and up to 2 children free, we got vouchers from Sainsburys and travelled to Oban for the day in the October week, spectacular scenery. Some nice person on here might help you get a deal nearer the time.
I think Tesco deals also do the City tour bus which you can hop on/off.
There is also (or used to be) a river bus which takes you to and from the city centre to Braehead shopping centre and Xscape/Snowzone and it gives a running commentary of the history of the river.
HTH FiFiIf you find any post helpful, please click the thanks button! :T
I survived the M8 snowjam 6/12/10 - 17 hrs to get home :snow_grin

I've been lurking on this thread since your first post, well done for keeping positive & turning things around :T
PS ... my daughter's just moved to Glasgow because she was offered a good job, she'd never have considered going otherwise (she's always been an Edinburgh fan) but now she's actually living there & has seen what the city has to offer, she's absolutely loving it
I'm sure you'll have a great time :A0 -
There are a few wetherspoons around Glasgow, if you go under the bridge at central station there is one on the right hand side which is quite nice, there is another in George square , The Counting House but its usually very busy.
