Oh bother...the galaxy book club promo is relaunching, hope they've got a npn route again this year. I've just done an inventory of my 'to read' pile and most of them are military related, and given how much I'm struggling with 'Bomber Boys' I think I need something lighter. On the plus side I'd getting through 'Doors Open' at a fair lick given I'm reading it at work when its quiet.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

my trouble is I keep books I HAVE read:think:

I try to curb my book habit by only buying non fiction. All my fiction comes from the library or friends, as I usually only read them once.

I really need to join in with this thread!
Having just had a bit of a splurge on Amazon I must make sure I start reading the books I have and only allowing more in if they are free and on computer!

Books come into my flat and are devoured, usually within 2-3 days of purchase....I can read, and have been, about 20-30 books a week, I have a very sad life and get bored quickly.

  • I had a quick search, but does anyone on here use https://www.swapshop.co.uk? I only ask cos I have been on there for about 4 or 5 years, and it worked really well to start with, but I've had around 30 books on there for over a year, and no takers at all. I've given up and am taking them to the charity shop next week, but I keep all of my books in really good condition, and it's a shame I can't swap them...

I've had a quick look, at the sites mentioned at the beginning of this thread, but it seems Swapshop has more books than the others, and I think the points system is lots better. Any thoughts?

I don't use it, but then again, I don't really use any site for swapping/selling at the moment, although I will be doing in the near future. I think some sites peak and trough in popularity and if your books have been on there for over a year, I think it's fair to say that it might have had its day in terms of usefulness for you. ;) Try another site if you can still stand the sight of them, and if not, to the charity shop they go!

  • Hi all,
I've been well behaved and managed not to buy any un-necessary books for months, and have also tackled my entire TBR pile. This month alone, I also managed to sell 13 books so far on www.greenmetropolis.com so the pile should soon really start to dwindle noticeably.
