The title of this thread caught my eye as i'm a serial bookaholic buyer....currently in the process of moving and cleared out 500+ books (gave them to charity) so am hoping no one minds me joining the thread!

Went out at dinner and bought three from Waterstones (3 for 2) :o - although i've got to say i'm shocked by how much the rrp is for books (6.99-8.99) - though the ones that i really wanted to get (Picture Perfect by Jodi Pucoult and the Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson) were both 13 each!!
    Welcome aboard!
Just finished The Ice Cream Girls - Brilliant, couldnt put it down! Read it in over two days :T:T:T:T:T Got it from the library though! I also fancy Pictire Perfect, so its on my wish list!:)

Thank you to Pickles and Jinty!! :)
Jinty if you like Jodi Picoult she's doing a book tour of her new book House Rules around the UK http://www.jodipicoult.com/events.html - I've been to two of these and both talks were brilliant and well worth going to! (The only prob this is the nearest one to me is the Trafford centre and I'm working next Friday - and theTrafford centre is miles away from the city centre!)
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos

so can i ask ... what are you doing to combat this addiction?

i was thinking of trying the library again ... but whilst i love and adore libraries the smell ... walking around them the silence etc .... actually taking books out to read from one sends me into panic mode ... i have figured out this stems from when i was a kid (doesnt it always) and the library was a santuary for me ... but i used to get books out and pages would be missing or stuck together with chewing gum ... or dog eared (that fair annoys me that does) or chocolate etc spilled on it ...

it got to the stage (and as i started to earn money) i started buying books and it just hasnt stopped

I've been awol from this thread for a wee bit - soory guys, just can't keep up!! Will slowly look back through what you've all been reading!

elantan, I plucked up the courage to go back to the library yesterday... had to renew my membeship as I haven't been in a few years - bad experience with forgetfulness and fines! But I came away with 4 books and a yoga DVD and a spring in my step! I eased myself in with factual books this time around, but I'm sure my confidence will grow ;).

Sneezy - I love your name! I should have chosen that too! :D

was wondering ... is there anywhere i can give my books away for free ... i would love for someone else to have the joy (or in some cases frustration) with some of the books i have ... i dont want money for them but i would need to have the p&p paid ... as i have alot of books and yeah if it was one or two then i could handle the £3 or whatever it cost to send but with it being quite alot more it would add up that it cost me a fortune...

does anyone know anywhere that does this?

if not i will give them to charity ... but would rather do that as a last resort

Elantan think there was a few different get rid of your books type sites mentioned towards the start of this thread. Or for a bit of fun you could try bookcrossing.com and let your books out into the wild.
