I've seen 19th wife in the shops and wondered whether it was worth reading.
It's really good, I definately enjoyed it.BEAT_THE_DEBT wrote: »Just read "in the red" by Alexis Hall and relisted it on amazon!x

Hi, I've been lurking and thought I'd give this a go if its ok with all. I too was a bookaholic, in that it was what a large chunk of my salary went on. I remember back in our courting days when DH came into my bedroom to be greeted by two full size bookcases that were doubled backed on the shelves. One case was full of books I'd read and the other was full of books to read. When we moved in together, I made the decision that there is so little time and so many books to read that I would change my ways and so got rid of a lot of books from both cases, mainly charity shops and amazon for the more unusual ones (better prices than ebay). I also started to go back to the library when finances changed a couple of years ago. This was something I'd stopped doing when I became an adult and was earning my own pay because I liked the thing of having a new book. What I do now, is go through the recommendations from Amazon based on purchases made over the years, make a note of them in a little book and then hit the library website, so I can see which library near to me has the ones I want. Sometimes its a reservation fee of 60p but hey, thats a damn sight better than the £'ws I was spending before. Have just finished Jane Green's Girl Friday after starting it whilst the footie was on the telly. Not bad. Was back at library today for four more. Don't know why, because I reckon that I have about 25 to read on the top shelf but am not in the mood for what's there at the moment. How crazy is that? Good luck to all. Thanks for a great thread.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0

Hi, enjoying this post. I have far too many (according to my husband!) books on my to be read shelf, but I AM good at swapping.. I love readitswapit.co.uk and bookmooch, and I use the library regularly. I am currently reading Killing Floor by Lee Child.Maureen0

Morning all, just popped on to say hi, and to catch up. Hi Curlytop welcome! Im afraid my pile has increased as I reserved a lot of the recomendations from this thread at the library and they all came into stock! I have just recently rediscovered the joy of my local library, and their service is brilliant! Plus yesterday I was at my Mums and she gave me a couple of books that she had enjoyed hence the large pile beside my bed! At least none of them cost me anything so that's a PLUS!
Just finished Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani - v enjoyable and now on The Importance of Being Kennedy by Laurie Graham. Its really good - its an account of life with the Kennedys from the point of view of their Irish nursemaid.
Im going to get a little book today to keep track of the books I fancy from from here!
Thanks for all the posts !

I have always kept the books I like, whether I have read them or not. But the truth is I always borrow books from others to read. When it comes to those books that have interested me a lot, I will read them several times.:ji love to be loved by you:j0

I read the Kennedy one recently, I loved it, really well written. Didn't realise Adriana Trigiani had written another one, that's now been added to my wishlist!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

my trouble is if i really like a book i cant get rid of it "incase i get time to read it again" im trying to convince myself that there are so many wonderful books out there that i should be moving on to new ones and letting the favourites go. (not happening yet) ive had a look through my bookcase shelves and found 9 Lynn andews that ive not yet read im telling myself that ALL of these 9 must be 'one reads' that can then go to a charity shop. I'll see how that goes:rotfl:SPC~12 ot 124
